Our locally own client in the mining industry is seeking to hire an experienced Administration and Finance Manager on permanent basis and to be based out its mine site (FIFO). The incumbent will be accountable for the financial and administrative deliverables for the clients and provide timely and accurate reports and information to the GM where required and when requested. The FM is directly accountable for the financial accuracy of all prepared reports and financial business process improvement.

Key roles and responsibilities include: 
 
  • Strategic Financial Management
    • Play a key role in the financial aspects of key contracts.
    • Manage the cash flow of the business to ensure optimal liquidity.
    • Manage the banking facilities available including debtor finance, letter of credit, bank guarantee facility and debt agreement.
    • Budget preparation and variance analysis
    • Implement process improvements for finance function.
    • Develop a sound internal control environment.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Month end reporting
    • WIP reporting
    • Asset management
    • Invoicing
    • Debtor management
    • Accruals management
    • Project reporting
    • Profit & Loss
    • Balance Sheet
    • Cash flow
    • Monthly reports
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
    • Review & analysis of month end financials
  • Cost Management
    • Materials and related cost of importation
    • Labor costs and productivity analysis
  • Manage Payroll Function
    • Monthly, fortnightly, and weekly payroll
    • Year-end reconciliations
    • Superannuation liabilities
    • Payroll Tax
    • Workers Compensations
  • Forecasting
    • Cashflow forecasting
    • Variance reporting
  • Statutory and Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and statutory accounting laws.
    • Manage relationships and resolve queries of external auditors.
    • Ensure compliance with income tax and GST responsibilities.
  • Achieve and maintain all agreed individual KPI’s.
  • Contribute to the safety and wellbeing of all company personnel through adherence to company policy and procedures.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial and operational reporting to the GM.
  • Meet agreed budget performance.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience required:
 
  • A minimum 10 years’ experience in a financial management position, reporting directly to senior management.
  • A minimum 10 years’ experience working in a contracting environment within mining and metals, civil, construction or heavy industrial industries.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in commercial business dealings within a contracting environment within mining and metals, civil, construction or heavy industrial industries.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of business management, including the monitoring of financial functions, including:
    • Profitability of the business
    • Profitability of contracts
    • Contract management
    • Gross margin delivery
    • Debt management
    • Creditor payments
    • Budgeting
    • Capital expenditure.
    • Banking and lending regulations
    • Asset management
  • Have sound commercial experience in:
    • Financial management reporting
    • Tendering
    • Estimating
  • Strong negotiating and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience leading and managing operational personnel.
  • Ability to conduct business dealings at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Qualifications in accounting or commerce
  • Working knowledge and training in financial management and reporting.
  • Experience in day-to-day use of financial management systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Be a recognized team player and have the ability to lead, motivate and build teams.
  • Exceptional oral and written skills.
  • Professional personal presentation.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Approachable, fair, and equitable in both business and personal dealings.
