Administrative Assistant (Expert)

• Providing HSE leadership to ensure the safety of employees and contractors while protecting the environment.
• Delivering project management activities: early studies, engineering, operational readiness, construction, commissioning and handover to operations.
• Set and maintain project budgets and schedules to meet internal and external commitments.
• Engage and manage engineering service providers to ensure project objectives are met.
• Prepare, review and issue tender documentation.
• Source, procure and engage suppliers and specialized subcontractors.
• Create and maintain project documentation in the different phases to meet Kitimat and Atlantic operations requirements.
• Engage and manage area stakeholders to ensure alignment and the best solution is selected and implemented to meet the business requirements.
• Preparing presentations to investment committee and participating at investment meetings.
• Maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote teamwork, excellence and team engagement.

• University diploma in Engineering or a Technical college degree in a relevant field.
• Registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
• An Engineer-In-Training with related experience can be considered.
• Project management training (PMP or master’s in project management) is a definitive asset.
• Around at least 10 years of experience in construction/industrial environment. 
• A proven track record of site management with safety, customer service and financial responsibilities.
• Sound understanding of project controls and project reporting requirements.
• Managed 5M to 20M million-dollar multi-discipline projects.
• Experience in managing and delivery of capital brownfield projects from concept to close-out
• Proven commercial acumen.
• Knowledge of the organisation’s policies and standard practices.
• Exposure to Rio Tinto project management framework is advantageous.

• Monday to Friday, 10-hour shifts, 50 hours/week.
• This is a local opportunity with no travel, camp, LOA, or relocation package provided.

• Execute the systems engineering process including requirements analysis, system architecture, design, integration, V&V
• Work with cross-functional teams across mechanical, electrical, software engineering to develop rolling stock systems.
• Lead analysis and definition of rolling stock projects and ensure compliance with industry regulations
• Apply systems thinking, engineering and research throughout the project lifecycle to deliver the outcomes of the project
• Participate in design reviews, V&V activities
• Develop project schedules and identify resource requirements
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address technical challenges
• Support the vendor selection process by being evaluating supplier proposals related to rolling stock projects

• Bachelor of Engineering, Computer Science or similar
• Experience in the development or design of rolling stock systems
• Familiarity with Systems Engineering and Safety Engineering principles and standards such ISO15288, EN 50126/8/9
• INCOSE / SESA Member desirable
• Working knowledge of tools such as DOORS, SysML, Polarian, MATLAB, SIMULINK

QEHS Manager

• The company: Our client, a Global Leader in the manufacturing of conveyor components, seeks an enthusiastic and experienced QEHS Manager for their Bayswater facility. This is a full-time permanent opportunity.

• Provide clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality.
• Develop quality-process links with customers in line with the Quality Management system (including ISO14001/ISO9001 / ISO45001), controls plans, failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) and supplier quality assurance (SQA) processes and oversee continued compliance and embedding across the business
• Responsible for maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers to maximise profit potential.
• Work with the directors, managers, supervisors and employees to maintain a programme of continual improvement within their areas of responsibility.
• Contribute to the creation of best practice in implementation of the quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures
• Implement all relevant procedures described into the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance
• Respond to customer complaints and action this in a timely manner – full analysis, action, error proof and implement short-term/long-term countermeasures
• Management of the Quality engineers and technicians in the sign-off or parts and the resolution of internal/external quality concerns
• Lead regular inspection meetings to establish plans and improve quality
• Set objective and KPI’s
• Promote high standards, reporting must be at the highest level and be comfortable with managing this process
• Work with the EHS Management system and environmental program
• EHS side of the role is to ensure zero injuries and safety philosophy to ensure employees are equipped to enable a safe, healthy, accident free and environmentally responsible work environment.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and reviews, mine recuses, firefighting and first aid crews
• Develop and implement EHS management plans and systems in compliance with clients and internal EHS procedures and systems
• Coordinate and lead investigation of incidents
• Occupational Health and Safety duties
• Audit and review
• Up-keep on the databases / systems
• Inductions and trainings

• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably Automotive or possible to consider construction industry (please note this isn’t a corporate / traditional role ideally you will want to join a family business with a global feel and be hands-on)
• Quality focused and background high on the list for this role
• Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing skills
• A minimum of 3 years operational (manufacturing related) experience within a similar EHS role
• Exposure to EHS management systems employed by major mining and/or manufacturing organisations a distinct advantage
• Comprehensive knowledge EHS standards: federal, state and local legislation, codes of practice and Australian standards
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
