Airswift is seeking an Automation Specialist to work for a midstream client in Calgary, AB. This is a 1-year contract with a huge possibility of being extended.
We are seeking an experienced Automation Specialist to join our client’s team in midstream sector. The successful candidate will possess strong expertise in Honeywell and Rockwell PLC systems, and SCADA, and have a proven track record in project management and implementation. This role involves designing, programming, and maintaining automation systems to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the pipeline infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop automation systems using Honeywell and Rockwell PLCs.
- Develop and configure SCADA systems for monitoring and control of pipeline operations.
- Ensure systems are designed in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Program PLCs and configure SCADA systems to optimize pipeline performance.
- Implement and test control logic to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain documentation for all automation systems and configurations.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC and SCADA systems.
- Implement upgrades and improvements to enhance system reliability and performance.
- Ensure all automation systems comply with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for automation systems.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, Control Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in automation engineering, with a focus on oil and gas.
- Extensive knowledge of Honeywell and Rockwell PLC systems.
- Proficient in SCADA system maintenance.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, IEC).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other automation platforms and tools.
- Willingness to travel as required for project implementation and support.
