Our client seeks a Senior Civil Engineer, Perth based for an initial 12 month contract.

Working closely with Project Managers, you’ll be providing technical expertise and advice across all stages of project design – Order of Magnitude, Pre-Feasibility Studies, Feasibility Studies, Detailed Design and Execution. Your role will be key to identifying and defining engineering solutions for our clients.
We’ll also be asking you to:
- Mentor and develop other Civil Engineers.
- Undertake storm water investigations, flood studies and devise mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry and client standards.
- Manage your own time across projects to ensure deliverables are met.
- Identify and report on any potential deviations from agreed scope of works.
About you
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering (chartered membership status – Engineers Australia).
- Consulting engineering experience – at a Senior level.
- A good understanding of design stages (OoM, PFS, FS, Execution).
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to influence, negotiate & build productive relationships.
- A keen eye for detail, good time management and a knack for problem-solving.
- Current right to work in Australia.

Airswift is on a task to find a Lead Electrical Designer to work on a long term contract with a client of ours within the industrial gases segment, in Houston, TX.
Contractors will be hired on as W2 and will be eligible to our benefits package. They will work under the direction of a Design Team Leader and will be a part of a small team, who will interface with counterparts in other engineering and design centers located in India, England, and China.
Contract extensions are possible depending on performance year on year.
Responsibilities
- Preparing 3D CAD design models using Smart 3D (S3D) software tool and creating 2D drawings in Microstation and SmartSketch for construction packages.
- Types of Electrical design models and drawings will include a variety of drawing types, including but not limited to single line development, Medium and Low voltage cable sizing and schedules, medium and low voltage electrical control schematic, wiring interconnections, junction and control box design, heat trace systems design and layout, etc
- Responsible for creating S3D models of cable tray layouts, underground conduit layouts, grounding/earthing layouts, lighting layouts, junction box and control station locations, etc.
- In addition to using S3D, the individual will learn how to obtain relevant information, review vendor & equipment drawings, understand design criteria, and read project documents
- Create S3D models for cable tray layouts, underground conduit systems, grounding systems, lighting layouts, junction box locations, electrical building layouts, and receptacle/control station layouts
- Complete detailed design drawings for electrical distribution and control systems
- Create Electrical drawings for site construction activities
- Review vendor submittals and equipment reference drawings
- Check drawings for accuracy and format
- Interface with other Design teams Civil/Structural, Piping, Stress Analysis, Mechanical & Machinery, etc
Qualifications
- Technical school education with CAD or associate degree in Drafting
- Minimum 2-5 years of CAD experience in modeling & creating design drawings using software tools such as AutoCAD, S3D, Frameworks, MicroStation, Solidworks, or other 3D software
- Experience with Smart 3D and SmartSketch is required
- Willingness to learn new CAD software tools
- Willingness to learn electrical distribution and control concepts
- Create and populate 2D drawings from 3D models with guidance from discipline leads
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently over time
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word

Key Accountabilities
- Design and deliver Electrical systems for Heavy Industry Mobile Equipment (HME) and Rail Development projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner.
- Contribute to design reviews and validation of various engineering designs and associated component selection suitable for application.
- Providing technical guidance on all Electrical Engineering Systems related to works being carried out, ensuring compliance to relevant standards.
- Develop technical specifications and scopes of work to meet project specific objectives.
- Monitor, interpret, and stay up to date with relevant regulatory requirements, standards, and directives applicable to our products and industry.
- Resolution of technical issues related to electrical design, standards and/or compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance into product development processes.
- Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets
- Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects
- Providing regular updates to the Principal Electrical Engineer including work progress, risks, and priorities.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Mining, Rail or Heavy Mobile Equipment.
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (essential)
- Experience with development of electrical standards, processes and procedures.
- Experience with Arc Flash Risk and management.
- Experience with Functional Safety standard and compliance.
- Experience with inverters, chargers and VSD with experience in electrical noise filtration is advantageous.
- Experience in designing high voltage DC power systems.
- Experience in contractor engagement and contractor management process.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence.
- Results driven, responsible and accountable.
- Strong knowledge of Australian and International standards relevant to Mining, Rail or Heavy Mobile Equipment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and address electrical risks.
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams.
- Knowledge of Electrical Drive System
