Airswift is seeking a Category Management Specialist to work on a 10-months contract with a client of ours in the Downstream Energy industry in Brentwood, TN. For candidates in Texas or Louisiana, remote or hybrid work is available.

The Category Management Specialist will be Responsible for the development and execution of category management strategies for assigned areas of spend.  

Responsibilities
  • Creates category plans and strategic sourcing initiatives, in support of leveraging third party spend and creating value for our client. 
  • Conducts spend analysis and market intelligence to identify and leverage key opportunities that deliver value, optimize supplier pool and mitigates risk to the business. 
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders, including site personnel, internal and external customers to deliver category strategies and strategic sourcing initiatives, while utilizing rigorous category management tools, processes and systems.
  • Communicates and aligns with stakeholders on an on-going basis, regarding progress, changes and status updates on assigned categories.
Experience & Education Required
  • Minimum BS/BA degree in Procurement, Business or relevant field. 
  • Masters or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible procurement, supply chain, commercial, contract development, or contract management, commercial, risk or relevant area
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Category Management and Strategic Sourcing for MRO, Equipment, Industrial services, commodities or similar
  • Minimum of 3 years process related industry, with oil & gas experience preferred
Skills Required:
  • SAP, Ariba, Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Office
  • Must have experience in developing strategies and sourcing rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, etc.), preferably in oil & gas or chemicals industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change with a focus on continuous improvement
  • A strong collaborator across the business, Supply Chain and other support Functions
  • Strong Contracting skills with in depth understanding of the various contract Terms and Conditions.
  • Ability to develop negotiations strategy and conduct supplier negotiations with the capability to meet targets, manage concessions and deliver results
  • Willingness to travel as required (10-15%)
