Our client is seeking a Lead Project Estimator to work remotely, for a 1-year assignment plus extensions.
The Lead Project Estimator will be a key member of the inventive and vibrant Estimating Team and will support design, planning, and budgeting of projects for the Client. The ideal candidate has experience in the renewable and/or high voltage transmission industry, a highly developed understanding of construction means and methods, a deep understanding of wind, solar, substation, and transmission construction requirements, robust project management skills, and strong leadership qualities. In this role, you will collaborate with cross functional teams involved in project development, planning and execution to develop project estimates and improve estimating tools. This is a leadership role within the team. Day to day responsibilities include leading and preparing estimates, the development of pricing models, and evaluating new technological innovations in the industry. The candidate will have the ability to grow their skillset, as our team also works on a large portfolio of technologies including wind, utility scale solar, distributed solar, energy storage, transmission & distribution lines, substations, water treatment, 5G & fiber, hydrogen, pipelines, and fossil generation.
This position develops, quantifies, costs, and provides a complete capital expenditure (CapEx) model for evaluating projects. CapEx models include all engineering, material, direct construction, and indirect construction costs. Employees in this role provide technical guidance, estimating knowledge, market pricing, staffing considerations during the estimating process, and presenting results up to E&C management.
Job Responsibilities:

- Coordinates with other departments, ensuring understanding of project objectives and efficient utilization of resources

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Engineering clients to seek a Senior Substation Engineer to work on a growth opportunity with an initial 12-month contract (contract to hire) in Jacksonville, FL.
You will provide engineering support for the design of substation facilities for voltages up to and including 765 kV for our client and its customers as an integral part of the Power Networks team. This includes new substations and switchyards, modifications, additions and upgrades to existing facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Substation physical design, encompassing engineering analysis for new switchyards, substations, and associated additions/modifications.
- Prepare specifications and provide procurement support.
- Develop engineering drawings for high-voltage switchyards and substations, covering layout, equipment, structures, site plans, grounding, conduit, lighting, lightning protection, control building arrangements, AC station service, DC systems, and Bills of Material.
- Conduct auxiliary electrical power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, protection and coordination, ampacity, and battery sizing.
- Perform substation grounding, lightning protection, insulation coordination, bus and transformer sizing, fault calculations, and AC/DC auxiliary system sizing.
- Prepare proposals, estimates, and contribute to scope documents and client presentations.
- Collaborate effectively in team-oriented and independent environments.
- Ensure document quality meets client standards and adhere to project procedures, codes, and standards within schedule and budget.
- Supervise and coordinate engineers to successfully deliver projects, providing technical direction.
- Discuss technical problems and communicate effectively with project personnel and clients.
- Conduct independent audits and reviews of technical work.
- Serve as a team leader, resolving complex issues, and ensuring deliverable quality.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States or must be open to obtaining a PE.
- Minimum 5+ years of substation experience.
- High Voltage experience (Outdoor substations).
- EPC and power generation experience preferred.
- A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Competent use of electrical engineering-specific software
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
- Ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal and written communication skills that permit working efficiently alongside other senior substation engineers and designers in a team setting.
Lead Electrical Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems for complex machinery (vehicles, equipment).
- Possess expertise in various power systems (DC, AC, high/medium/low voltage).
- Design and analyze wiring harnesses, schematics, and drawings using industry-standard tools.
- Experience with 3D modeling for components and routing of electrical systems.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and timely delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- 8-12 years of experience in relevant field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, particularly for high voltage applications.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience in the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of specific engineering management tools (PLM, PDM, change management).
