Dear all,

Our client seeks an experienced Coating Engineer to join their office in Paris, France in a 6 to 12 months contract.

We are looking for candidates with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference in our performance to ensure that the company continues to differentiate itself from competitors by delivering quality service to our client’s requirements. 



RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Write and optimize coating material requisitions and technical FJC specifications in line with contractual documents and scopes of work,
  • Perform technical support for requisition at each stage of the procurement process and manufacturing phase of line pipe and custom coatings,
  • Attend the Production Qualification and pre-Production trials at Vendors / Sub-Contractors workshop for critical activities such as qualification and validation program,
  • Technical assistance for NCR closure,
  • Review Vendor / Sub-contractor documents considering schedule constraints (PQT, PPT, application procedures, ITP test report, etc.),
  • Liaise with Spool base team to ensure the production readiness for field joint coating activities,
  • Apply standardized Coating material requisition and Field joint Coating design as developed by RP&IT and PPG.
 
The studies at the expense of the SERVICE PROVIDER require the following skills:
  • Mastery of the specificities of coating, field joint coating and custom coating systems used on SPS and SURF subsea systems that can be installed by reeling,
  • Mastery of the know-how of codes and standards applicable to the qualification and application of such systems (NACE certification would be a plus),
    Mastery of applicable codes: ISO 21809-1/2/3, ISO 12736, DNV OS F101, RP F103 & F106.
  • Must have an engineering, MSc degree or equivalent Material or Chemical Engineering degree (Polymer/non-metallic).
    SHALL KNOW:
  • Coating and field joint coating technologies for anti-corrosion and insulation applications,
  • Applicable ISO standards for coating system and production qualification,
  • Applicable pipeline and subsea systems standards and relevant sections for your field of expertise,
  • Applicable qualifications procedure for the various installations methods,
  • Knowledge in cathodic protection design would plus.
     
PROCEDURES – METHODOLOGY:

It will be essential to follow the rules of the project, the Rules of the Art as well as the Quality Assurance procedures applicable to this project, regarding:
- GSOP SUP 17000
 

QUALITY OF THE DOCUMENTATION PRODUCED:

The documents produced by the SERVICE PROVIDER must have the quality required according to the tasks defined above, in particular:
  • Technical quality.
  • Quality of the content (in relation to the volume of information on a given document).
  • Quality in the presentation (in relation to the graphics and the ease of reading of the document produced).
  • All documents will be written in the language of the contract.
