Position: Credit Risk & Contracts Senior Analyst

Location: Melbourne

Duration: 6-months casual contract

Working Arrangement: 60/40 (3 days in office, 2 days WFH)

 

About the role

The Credit Risk & Contracts Senior Analyst is responsible for evaluating, managing and monitoring the credit risk exposure for the relevant country/business to support delivery of business goals through optimisation of the balance between credit risk and reward.

 

Education/Experience
• Degree qualified or studying towards a business-related discipline highly regarded
• Minimum of 3 years previous experience in credit assessment and security management in a credit related field, including debt management required.
• Knowledge of legal entities and corporate structures (companies, partnerships, trusts, etc).
• Knowledge of contract law, privacy act and relevant credit legislations.
• Experience in using SAP, JDE, MS Office

 

Purpose:

  • Be a key consultation point for the offshore regional credit team and local Credit Analyst for applications or credit reviews in assessing their credit worthiness.
  • Support the SPU credit risk management process to ensure coverage and compliance of the Credit risk management framework in order to protect company assets.
  • Support the Credit Risk Specialist and Credit Risk & Relationship Lead in driving continuous improvement in credit simplification to deliver a standardised and effective process for conducting diligent investigations to identify, manage and monitor credit risk using evaluative tools and business judgement.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and support to the regional GBS Hub credit team to support the effective management of credit across the regional portfolio.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Provide recommendations, risk assessments on new applications & scheduled reviews through the analysis of financial information and related credit agency supplied information, e.g., Cash flow statements, profit & loss balance sheet
  • Provide a key escalation and consultation point on all Level 1 & 2 applications, dealers contracts and security and credit decisions across the regional credit team.
  • Facilitate, input and drive monthly and quarterly reporting as required by bp global in consultation with local and regional teams.
  • Consult with the relevant sales-person to obtain the information necessary to undertake the reviews – ie financials or security as required.
  • Escalate issues of non-compliance to the relevant DOA holder
  • Assess and approve new premium applications and scheduled reviews within defined authority and escalate appropriately.
  • Provide assistance to Credit Analyst in Australia and Credit Analysts and Regional Credit Application Support Officers on new applications, credit limit reviews or general systems, best in class management of the application process
  • Contribute to and lead weekly forums relating to the status of credit application numbers and issues for further intervention as required.
  • Review over credit limit reports and orders to ensure that actions are undertaken (ie credit limit reviews)
  • Provide advice to the Business and Operations teams in relation to problem accounts and all new applications
  • Ensure a high level of partner and customer responsiveness is maintained by adhering to all service level agreements and key performance targets
  • Ensure that timely and accurate reports are maintained in relation to the management of credit.
  • Compliance with Group Credit Standard and Policies.
  • Ensure an accurate and high level of customer data integrity
  • Maintain customer files
  • In conjunction with a regional Credit team, recommend and facilitate appropriate payment plans for customers, including monitoring & reporting on progress
  • Continual review and improvement of current processes and procedures in relation to applications
  • Assist the local and offshore Cash and Credit Teams leadership as required
