Our client is seeking a Data Architect to work within their facilities located in Perth, Australia. This is an expression of interest role for an upcoming project.
The Company
A global operator of energy and resources. As a result of continued improvement, they are looking for a Data Architect who is an expert with data infrastructure and consolidation.
The Role
As the Data Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing, creating, and maintaining the organisation's data infrastructure and architecture. You will also be consolidating data from disparate data sources.
This is a Perth based role on a 12-months contract.
Responsibilities
- Data Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data strategies, aligning them with the company's objectives and vision.
- Data Modeling: Design and implement data models that support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
- Data Governance: Establish data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, compliance, and privacy standards are met.
- Data Integration: Develop and maintain data integration processes that allow seamless data flow between various systems and platforms.
- Data Architecture: Create and maintain a scalable and flexible data architecture that can adapt to the evolving needs of the business.
- Data Security: Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data from internal and external threats.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of data systems to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
- Data Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data assets, including data dictionaries, data lineage, and metadata.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and analysts to understand their data requirements and provide the necessary infrastructure.
- Emerging Technologies: Stay up-to-date with the latest data technologies and industry best practices to recommend and implement innovations.
Requirements
- Proven experience 7 years minimum working in a similar role
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling and database design principles.
- Proven experience with cloud-based data solutions (Microsoft Azure).
- Proven experience with the use of Databricks.
- Experience in the resources sector is highly regarded.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Perth based and possessing Australian Full working rights.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as computer science, or a related discipline is essential.
