The role:
Our client, a leading firm in the offshore and energy sector, is seeking a Discipline Manager for Instrument Engineering. As the Discipline Manager, you will oversee the organization, personnel, and discipline-related activities within the Instrument Engineering department. Serving as the primary point of contact for instrument engineers, you will provide support and guidance to project teams throughout the engineering, construction, and commissioning phases. Additionally, you will ensure the quality assurance of instrument engineering documents, lead standardization efforts, and facilitate the professional development of team members.


  • Manage the organization, personnel, and discipline-related activities of the Instrument Engineering department.
  • Provide support and guidance to project teams during engineering, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure the quality assurance of instrument engineering documents and lead standardization efforts.
  • Facilitate the professional development of instrument engineers through coaching, career planning, and training.
  • Oversee resource planning, personnel evaluations, and recruitment efforts.


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Technical Physics, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of eight years of instrument engineering experience within an engineering firm, preferably in the offshore and/or energy sector.
  • Extensive experience in instrument engineering, including field instrumentation, automation, and telecommunication systems.
  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams and motivating team members.
  • Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach.
  • Demonstrated traits of decisiveness, integrity, ambition, proactivity, engagement, stress tolerance, and reliability.
  • Proficiency in English is required, knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
