We are currently recruiting for a Engineer Manager - The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing the engineering department supporting projects and maintenance. The person will stay in close contact with the project managers during the feasibility phase, FEED, the detailed engineering, the construction, the commissioning and start-up phase of projects.
Responsibilities
- Managing the human resources needed to fulfil the objectives of the Engineering function.
- Administering the functions of engineering for Turn Arounds, Brownfield and Green Field Projects ensuring engineering consistency of approach and integration between the projects and maintenance activities.
- Setting the knowledge and skill standards for the engineering department to deliver effectively engineering services to the project teams.
- Advising and coaching employees on a daily basis.
- Improving the overall effectiveness of the engineering disciplines through training, coaching, mentoring and exposure.
- The development of a Proficiency Scale to provide a consistent framework that enables relevant discussion about developmental needs against a specific competency.
- The development of a succession planning for the engineering department together with the HR department.
- The development of a strategy to optimize the balance between continuity of experience and knowledge and the need for the variable workforce.
- Keeping standards and procedures up to date.
- Exploring opportunities to make the function’s processes more efficient.
- Establish a safety-first culture.
- Manages the daily operations of the Engineering department ensuring teamwork to achieve the best possible performance meeting set targets.
- Directs and manages the following functions: Piping/Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and CSA.
- Oversees the recruitment, development, and retention of employees under his direction.
- Review project specifications, and supports refining the project’s scope and execution plans.
- Supports and provide input to project services.
- Sets the engineering standards, capture lessons learned through pre- and post-project reviews in coordination with project teams,
- Implement quality, and provide specialized technical support to operations and maintenance.
- Maintains regular contact with the project managers and leadership team to ensure that the Engineering functions meet their needs.
Skills / Qualifications
- 15-20 years engineering and Brownfield/Greenfield/Turn Around work experience.
- Has relevant working experience with up- and/or downstream oil and gas companies.
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Manage and support project teams in a matrix organization.
- Manage and support engineering and construction contractors
- Pro-active, good people management, communication and presentation skills.
- Good knowledge about how to implement procedures and best practices.
- Good planning skills.
- Good negotiation skills.

You will be a key player in ensuring timely available of and access to materials needed by our engineers and build teams working on our product programs. You will do this by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including build and test, engineering, and project management, to drive effective and timely purchasing
You will take accountability of the following areas:
Procurement and Expediting:

- Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing, ordering, and receiving materials.
- Vendor Onboarding and tracking of onboarding process.
- Expedite and track all materials required for the Project in a time critical manner.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Ensure all shipping and transport documentation from suppliers are available to meet procurement guidelines.

- Raise TRF for urgent materials.
- Ensure all materials tracked to delivery are physically receipted and provided a storage location.
- Coordinate with the Logistics team for timely delivery of materials to the site.
- Track the movement of materials from procurement to delivery.
- Generate reports on Purchase order confirmation, expediting, and delivery status.
- Identify any discrepancies or issues and take corrective actions.
- Work closely with other departments (such as build and test, supply chain, and finance) to ensure smooth material flow.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify areas for process improvement within the logistics function.
- Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
About you:
- Previous experience in purchasing and expediting in a project or workshop setting
- Strong MS office and SAP skills required
- Ability to work effectively in fast pace environments
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Well-developed verbal & written communication skills
