The chosen candidate for this role will be responsible for crafting intricate engineering designs to establish connections for new customers within the Durham/Chapel Hill region. This encompasses diverse projects such as new residential constructions, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The role entails on-site visits to customer job sites in the local area, alongside office-based design work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in both verbal and written communication, as well as effective organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical expertise and guidance for the identification, analysis, and resolution of increasingly complex problems, both within and beyond typical responsibilities.
  • Ensures the achievement of business goals and objectives by effectively planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring work activities. Decisions may impact the operations or outcomes of the work group and have some influence on major projects or department results.
  • Prepares comprehensive and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches related to defined problems and analyses of increasing scope and complexity.
  • Conducts engineering studies and handles non-routine engineering projects with minimal oversight. Capable of independently managing project schedules and interfaces. Proficient in designing, operating, and maintaining systems with a moderate impact on existing systems.
  • Applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures, demonstrating proficiency in technical and analytical competencies required for assignments of increasing complexity.
  • Cultivates positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills while maintaining accurate records and files.
  • Supports the company's goals and represents the organization positively and professionally.
