Our client that specializes in Energy Industry / STEM Industry is looking for Environmental Greenhouse Gasses Advisor to be located in Perth. 

Position:          Environmental Greenhouse Gasses Advisor  

Duration:         12 months contract

Schedule:        Monday – Friday & 8 hours per day

Location:         Perth 

Purpose:

  • To provide environmental expertise to ensure that Project development complies with internal policy and government regulatory requirements.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

All employees are responsible for performing their duties in a responsible manner in keeping with Australia’s HSE Statement.

  • Act as the Environmental Focal Point for the Verus Project Development and;
  • Manage and support the development of the environmental elements of the HSE integrated management system to ensure that the goals and requirements of the Company’s HSE policy, associated standards and ISO14001 are achieved.
  • Develop relevant environmental studies and monitoring programs required to support Company/Project activities.
  • Coordinate and implement of stakeholder consultation plan and maintenance of relevant databases.
  • Implement internal Company Environmental Reporting requirements.
  • Develop external Regulatory Environmental Reporting requirements.
  • Act as the Greenhouse Gas Focal Point for the Verus Project Development (Upstream Operated and Midstream operated by others) and;
  • Develop robust methodology for Greenhouse Gas Management and its impacts to the Project.
  • Support and administer processes associated with GHG data forecasting, internal and external reporting.
  • Ensure implementation of environmental regulatory and approval requirements across Verus Project Development and:
  • Undertake, manage or co-ordinate the preparation, maintenance and verification of environmental approvals, including environmental impact statements, EPBC referrals, environment plans and oil spill contingency plans.
  • Advise on and verify compliance with relevant applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Undertake, manage and/or participate in Environmental risk and impact. assessments and studies for all phases of works (including ENVIDs, EIAs, etc.) and the preparation of associated reports.
  • Liaise with government departments and Regulators to facilitate environmental approvals.
  • Support preparation for project execution and:
  • Support to procurement processes to ensure environmental compliance, including preparation and evaluation of dedicated HSE tenders.
  • Prepare and delivery of training material or inductions.
  • Undertake, manage and/or participate in management and Environmental related Audits, Reviews, Inspections and Investigations.

As part of the HSE Department, general duties include:

  • Participate in Oil Spill Response activities.
  • Participate in the Incident Management Team roster.
  • Any other agreed activity as directed by the SEQ Manager.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Environmental Engineering/Science
  • 5+ yrs experience in similar role, with extensive experience in Environmental management within the Oil and Gas industry
  • Proven experience in preparation, maintenance and implementation of Environment Plans
  • Proven experience in managing Environmental approvals and environmental monitoring
  • Ability to obtain a MSIC and TBOSIET.
