We are currently recruiting for a HVAC Engineer to be placed in London and would be on a 12-month renewable contract with the possibility of extension. The main function to follow the HVAC activities of each project contractor to ensure the engineering with quality and timely execution of the HVAC deliverables and associated HVAC equipment with regards to project specification in close relationship with the Head quarter based in PAU (FRANCE). Following the activities related to HVAC engineering carried out by the FEED and EPSCCs contractors (mainly for the CPF-Wellpads and Pipelines packages) :
Responsibilities
During the FEED Update Phase and EPC Phase thereafter, the service holder will be in charge to:
- Be part of the mechanical engineering team and follow HVAC-related activities performed by the FEED and EPSCCs
- Contractors (mainly for the CPF-Wellpads Package)
- Provide support and expertise and contribution with regards to his discipline.
- Provide support to challenge the FEED Contractors in the value engineering exercise. Promote alternatives design to optimize cost, work and schedule. Make sure the design is in line with the low environmental impact targets of the project.
- Timely review and comment engineering documents and consolidate comments related to HVAC deliverables; liaise with other engineering specialist, and entity (Operations, HSE) as required, in close relationship with the Head office expert.
- Ensure that the engineering activities related to HVAC matters are performed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Contextualized GS, with required level of quality, high HSE standards, with respect of the Project highly sensitive environment, considering the logistic constraints and within the agreed time schedule and cost.
- Prepare the derogation requests to GS (in particular to GS EP HVA) in EP Derogation system (in POLARION), follow up the instruction by Head office experts to ensure timely answer.
- Promptly respond to engineering clarifications, request for deviations and unexpected technical issues, by a proactive and proficient approach.
- Conduct studies leading to technical decision making and issue recommendation to Project Management.
- Liaise with Head office to get expertise when required in specific HVAC subjects such as energy efficient systems, low environmental impact solutions, simple and cost-efficient design (including the OPEX), Chilled water loop systems, DX systems, Air distribution, Contractors and Manufacturers selection.
- Provide support in his field of expertise, to compare and evaluate the CPF-Wellpads FEED Contractors during the FEED competition phase
- Assist the Procurement activities including bid evaluation and inspection.
- Participate to Factory Acceptance Test for main HVAC equipment.
- Assist and participate to erection or dummy assembly on construction yards and final assemble on site.
- Assist the Commissioning and Operations in the preparation of their activities (such as procedures, MIEC).
- Support preparation and participate in Project technical reviews, provide answers and ensure timely implementation of the findings in his discipline.
- Ensure proper reporting, highlighting critical issues to the Lead Mechanical Engineer and proposing remedial actions.
- The Service holder is also accountable for demonstrating an exemplary behaviour with regard to HSSE rules & requirements and for ensuring that HSSE requirements are duly implemented within his area of responsibility
- Qualification: Engineer, or equivalent
- Languages: English mandatory
- Professional Experience: 20+ years in Oil and Gas projects
- Experience in similar position (years): 15+ years at same or equivalent position
