Airswift has been tasked by one of our major EPC O&G clients to seek a Instrumentation designer to work in their facilities located in Pau, France.

OBJECT

We are looking for an experienced instrumentation designer/draughtsman to carry out the studies and CAD.

PROFILE

With a DUT/BTS degree in physical measurements, automation and industrial computing, the position is open to holders of a bac+2 with at least 10 years of experience in the industrial, energy (preferably offshore O&G) or naval sectors and in engineering.

We are looking for an employee with the following requirements:

 
  • Knowledge of LV electricity, physical measurements, pneumatics, automation and industrial computing.
  • Curiosity and ability to analyze and understand technical topics.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks accurately, quickly and with quality.
  • Ability to manage the objectives (hours allocated to tasks) entrusted with progress monitoring to the group leader or the head of the instrumentation / automation study.
  • Mastery of the CAD tools listed in section 4.


WORK TO BE CARRIED OUT

The work will be carried out autonomously, under the responsibility of the instrumentation design manager and/or the project manager and in interface with the other disciplines within the framework of pre-project and detailed pre-project studies and detailed studies.
The activities and work to be carried out will include, but are not limited to:



Coordination
    • Ensure compliance with the issuance dates of the entrusted deliverables.
    • Management, preparation and verification of CAD activities.
    • Participation in interface meetings with other disciplines.
    • Management of the hours assigned to the tasks assigned.
    • Reporting of progress to the group leader or the head of the instrumentation/automation study.

Task Completion:
    • Instrument connection studies and general installation.
    • Measurement and positioning (on plan, in laser readings or 3D model).
    • Locating equipment, instruments and cables.
    • Symbolization of instruments or typical instruments on P&IDs.
    • Analysis and understanding of existing documentation (multi-discipline, vendor, norms & standards).
    • Analysis and understanding of site data.
    • Identification of technical needs.


Writing the documentation:
    • List of Instruments, Inputs/Outputs.
    • Interlink diagrams.
    • Cable book.
    • Drawings of terminal blocks or turntables.
    • Layout plans (technical rooms, cabinets, cabinets, junction boxes).
    • Site and route plans.
    • Support planes.
    • System architecture plans.
    • Loop diagrams.
    • Pneumatic or hydraulic diagrams.
    • Installation and connection diagrams.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Fluency in written and spoken technical English. The language of deliverables and meetings can be either English or French.

Software Proficiency:
  1. OFFICE 365 (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams)
  2. MS SharePoint,
  3. AutoCAD.

Knowledge or proficiency in the following software is a plus:
  1. Smart Plan Instrumentation (SPI),
  2. Navisworks,
  3. PDS, PDMS,
  4. E3D,
  5. MySurvey,
  6. Safety Culture, HSE sensitivity,
