Our client seeks a Lead Process Engineer for a Perth based opportunity, on an initial 12 month contract.
Working with a Tier 1 Ore producer, you will be joining highly technical Project Team on a Brownfields upgrade.
The Role:

Lead the process design of a flotation circuit which includes input and review of the layout, leading a team of 2 process engineers.
Compile, review and complete relevant process engineering documents such as; PDC, PFD/P&ID, mass balance, option analysis, HAZOP, HAZID, etc.
Liaising with stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects, including work progress, risks and priorities.
Ensure process engineering projects comply with statutory and regulatory requirements, company policies and conditions set out in project scope

About you:

Previous experience working as a design engineer at all levels of study and detailed design, preferably within an EPCM or resources environment
Strong amount of experience in flotation such as copper or nickel and able to lead the process design of a flotation circuit
Great communication, both verbal and written, with proven experience in mentoring and/or leading junior - mid level engineers
Ability to review, compile and complete process engineering documents such as PDC, PFD/P&ID, option evaluation, process reports, HAZOP etc
Operations experience in flotation plants would also be highly regarded (but not essential)

Knowledge of relevant local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
Competent use of electrical engineering software.
Proficiency in relevant software, including the MS Office Suite.
Substantial hands-on experience in electrical engineering within a similar industry, including multidisciplinary project and team collaboration.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Recognized and relevant engineering degree.
Preferred: Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
RPEV or RPEQ registration or eligibility for registration.
Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering, management, project management, or equivalent supervisory qualifications.

It is envisioned that the successful candidate will bring MicroStation proficiency and previous experience working on mining projects in an EPCM environment.

Collaborate with the project team to develop efficient design / piping layouts for brownfields optimization projects.
Conduct detailed design activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Participate in the study period to gather necessary information and perform feasibility assessments.

Work closely with other disciplines to ensure effective coordination and integration of design elements.

What you will bring:

2 - 5 years previous experience in a similar role.
Previous experience in the mining industry - very desirable
Strong background in materials handling and familiarity with associated equipment.
Proficiency in MicroStation software for drafting and design tasks.
3D piping experience is desirable but not essential.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
