Airswift is looking for a Lead Tanks Engineer to work for a major LNG Client in Houston, TX, on an initial 1-year assignment likely to be extended.

 

The Lead Engineer - Tanks specializes in Tanks, and all aspects of a project which affect Tanks, including but not limited to tanks, columns, drums, filters and associated auxiliary equipment. The Lead Engineer – Tanks primary responsibility is to provide technical direction, expertise, and leadership with respect to anks mechanical system activities associated with Company's LNG and Net Zero Solution projects.

 

This position will initially be located at the EPC contractor offices and project sites during project execution. Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) will be required.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Supports EPC in house design activities

•       Audit EPC detailed designs for API and ASME tanks, columns, drums, filters and associated auxiliary equipment such as ladders, stairs and platforms

•       Ensures equipment is designed and constructed to be safe, to perform the requirements of the process, and to meet the project specifications and applicable Codes & Standards.

•       Reviews equipment inquiry/purchase requisitions & technical bid evaluations supplied by EPC for correctness of selection.

•       Reviews equipment inquiry/purchase requisitions & technical bid evaluations supplied by EPC for correctness of selection.

•       Attends Kick-off, Detailed Design, Model Reviews, Pre-Inspection Meetings.

•       Participates in Process HAZID and HAZOP analysis as needed.

•       Participates in factory acceptance tests and inspections.

•       Performs and evaluates Finite Element Analysis as needed.

•       Interfaces with EPC counterparts and other EPC disciplines on a project task force.

•       Tracks project deliverables with little or no supervision.

•       Stays abreast of current Vessel and tank related Static Equipment developments thru participation in Industry technical shows and committees.

Performs supervisory duties and provides guidance to subordinate engineers as may be requested. Supports field construction activities.

•       Audits EPC Construction activities, installation, preservation, commissioning, and start-up

•       Monitors vendor progress and reports to Engineering/Construction Manager

Familiarity and ability to read and interpret mechanical diagrams, including flow charts, cause/effect diagrams, and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&IDs).

 

Must have a good working knowledge of API, ASME, ANSI, PIP and other process industry codes and standards.

 

Ability to maintain multiple assignments with various deadlines and responsibility levels concurrently.

 

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

 

Demonstrated proficiency in referencing, researching, reporting, tracking and monitoring of activities and documents

 

Ability to work independently and function with limited supervision

 

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)

 

Experience and knowledge with vessel design programs including Compress, Code Cal, PV Elite, Nozzle Pro, and WRC 107

 

Design and construction knowledge of NEC codes, especially as related to hazardous area applications.

 

Knowledge and/or application experience with industry standards: API Publications; ASCE Publications; ASME Publications; NACE Publications; OSHA
