Airswift is hiring for a long-term contract Maintenance Planner to work on our client's site in Bay City, TX. This position will report to the site Maintenance Manager and is critical to the organization as it coordinates the production requirements with Maintenance and Engineering organization's activities. 

Purpose:
  • This role collects, organizes and documents the work order steps with resources, tools and materials to safely and effectively execute maintenance scope of work to improve equipment availability and improve maintenance cost efficiency(time to repair + quality of repair = lower maintenance costs) and ensures that equipment is available to meet production demands, in a way that optimizes total business cost (production downtime, maintenance cost, MRO inventory cost, etc.).
  • Facilitates maintenance productivity (ability to schedule effectively, quality of workmanship, utilization of labor, materials and services) to ensure safe and quality work execution through clear Work Order development that utilizes current knowledge/documentation and improves documentation for future use
  • Responsibilities of the role will focus on maintaining the free issue inventory for the maintenance department. This could include moving materials with lifts and different types of mobile equipment.

  • Needs to know the production schedule and the windows for maintenance and capital activities to occur.
  • Need to understand the production organization job steps (decommissioning, lockout, and recommissioning) plus the maintenance and capital work execution steps to ensure integration to minimize cost and production downtime.
  • Once this role understands the requirements, then they coordinate/negotiate with all stakeholders to attain the best Business solution.
  • Timely planning of work orders based on input from site personnel
  • Track material status
  • Keep free issue inventories stocked
  • Kit materials for scheduled work orders
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Ability to develop and excel in a team environment
  • Time management and prioritization skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to execute with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of and experience with Site safety policies, procedures, and training as required
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Maintenance Work Process and its impact upon asset reliability
  • Knowledge of and experience with and have ability to access Maintenance policies, procedures, and maintenance training as required
  • Understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM), and Management of Change and how they relate to the Planning process
  • Knowledge of and experience with other software tools as appropriate; Microsoft® Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint), Process & Instruments Drawings, Electrical Drawings, MS Project or Primavera P6
  • Good interpersonal and Conflict Resolution Skills with the ability to influence managers, peers, and maintenance team
  • Knowledge of Predictive Maintenance techniques (examples- steam trap testing, oil analysis, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the complexity of various maintenance restoration techniques; to effectively build the necessary time, skills, tools, materials, activities and sequence required to execute the scope of work into the work order in a way that facilitates the scheduling process
  • Knowledge of first break and lock out requirements
  • Knowledge of Engineering Standards as applied to Pipe and Valve Codes
  • Ability to translate written repair procedures into SAP task lists or Work Orders and Shop papers (job packages) to facilitate effective scheduling
  • Ability to interpret drawings to create quality work order structure (planning) and create sketches for communication to mechanics as part of work execution package
  • Knowledge of and experience with creating field isometric drawings of piping systems for mechanics as part of work execution package
  • Knowledge of and experience with the creation of the material master data descriptions to ensure that the material meets the usage requirements
  • Required to effectively execute specific SAP transactions
