Airswift is seeking to invite an experienced Marine Engineering Manager to join a dynamic engineering team in the marine oil and gas industry

Responsibilities are but not limited to:
  • Marine engineering Management: Independently manage the multi disciplinary engineering and design team of hull and marine facilities of FPSO project in order to deliver FPSO Marine engineering within budget, schedule and quality
  • Leadership: Provide leadership to the marine engineering team and be the single focal point in the project organisation all issues to marine engineering to deliver consistent engineering design across all hull and marine facilities of FPSO
  • Engineering set up: Lead the setting up of all engineering and design systems, engineering execution plan, engineering schedule, master document register (MDR), FEED verification, procurement schedule, engineering stages and gates, schedule of engineering reviews and audit
  • Management of changes: Implement engineering change management for the marine engineering post design freeze in all disciplines including communication tracking and approval by the relevant stakeholders.
  • Compliance: Supervise all marine discipline leads to ensure delivery of engineering design that complies with company standards, class society rules, applicable international codes and standards and regulatory requirements
  • Communication: Conduct internal hull and engineering team meeting, meeting with shipyard engineering team and third party, participate in meetings with client and other external agencies. Prepare minutes of meetings and progress reports.
  • People management
  • Marine engineering budget: Motivate the marine engineering team and ship yard team to perform, provide performance feedback, forecast and manage engineering resources on the project
  • Engineering resources: Lead in forecasting and mobilizing engineering and design resources for the marine engineering team in the project
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Master of Engineering
  • At least 20 years of relevant working experience in oil and gas or FPSO sector for degree holder
  • Familiarity with a broad spectrum of engineering work and the overall design and construct of FPSO as well as the sequencing of engineering activities.
  • Marine Engineering Management skill in EPCI phase; knowledge of engineering governance, knowledge of scope of work and interfaces among all engineering disciplines (process, mechanical, piping, structure, electrical and telecom, instrumentation and marine engineering) and between engineering and other functions; Management of Sub-contractors and Third Party Study providers, interacting with Clients; Contractual requirements; Engineering sequence and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of Contractual requirements, scope of work, engineering planning, Quality Management System, Procurement strategy
  • Knowledge of company and project change management procedures, contractual scope of work, project milestones
  • Knowledge of Company Standards, Client Standards, Class Society rules, Applicable Codes and Standards, Regulatory requirement of the project and Company code of conduct
  • Good written and oral communication skill, knowledge of Topsides engineering scope and contractual requirements
  • Knowledge of Engineering schedule, engineering manhour rates, engineering norms, scope of work of engineering sub-contractors, terms and conditions of engineering subcontracts
  • Adequate knowledge of all interfaces between different engineering disciplines and design codes and regulatory requirements EPCI project.
  • Knowledge of competing and alternative technologies
  • Ability to organise meetings and liaise with class and client team to resolve issues
  • Ability to conduct performance assessment of topsides engineering coordinators and lead engineers
