Our client, a major in the Oil and Gas industry, is looking for a Mechanical Completions & Commissioning Specialist - HVAC Lead to work in Ingleside, TX on a 6-month assignment (Subject to extension).

Position Overview: Reporting to the Mechanical SME and Commissioning Manager, this position is responsible for the verification and sign-off of "B & C" check-sheets for the Telecoms discipline in accordance with the Mechanical Completions Philosophy of the Project. The incumbent will also participate in Mechanical Completion (MC) walkdowns. Additionally, the role will support the commissioning of HVAC systems into the final acceptance and handover to Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on commissioning support to ensure timely, safe, and efficient delivery of HVAC assets
  • Support the development and validation of HVAC commissioning strategies and execution plans
  • Interface with system owners and construction counterparts to ensure alignment with the commissioning strategy
  • Review and lead the execution of commissioning procedures for the HVAC scope
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of all HVAC and HVAC Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) specialty vendors (Wozair, Thermoplant, Siemens)
  • Provide PLC programming support
  • Participate in the development of the HVAC resource-loaded plan
  • Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) of HVAC control systems
  • Maintain a daily log of activities and contribute to team reporting metrics
  • Periodically review construction activities and progress, identifying issues that may impact schedule, milestones, or project goals to management
  • Lead planning and provide schedule inputs to schedulers for the 3-week look-ahead

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, as well as maintain effectiveness in varying environments and with different tasks, responsibilities, and people
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project
  • Working knowledge of Smart Completions software, preferably Hexagon
  • Ability to read and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
  • Experience working with construction contractors during the building and commissioning of facilities
  • Experience in reviewing Mechanical Completion (MC) and Commissioning check-sheets and walkdown packages, understanding system priorities and schedules
  • Experience in the verification and closeout of punch list items and site queries to facilitate system Mechanical Completions (MCs) and Ready for Start-Up (RFSU) Certificates
  • Experience in scheduling and executing Pre-commissioning and Commissioning of Telecoms systems
  • Familiarity with offshore health, safety, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma/certificate or journeyman in HVAC
  • 5+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry (preferably Offshore) with exposure to Construction, Completions, and/or Commissioning of HVACs is preferred
  • Must be legally entitled to work in the USA
