Our client seeks a Senior Civil Engineer, Perth based for an initial 12 month contract.

Working closely with Project Managers, you’ll be providing technical expertise and advice across all stages of project design – Order of Magnitude, Pre-Feasibility Studies, Feasibility Studies, Detailed Design and Execution. Your role will be key to identifying and defining engineering solutions for our clients.
We’ll also be asking you to:
- Mentor and develop other Civil Engineers.
- Undertake storm water investigations, flood studies and devise mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry and client standards.
- Manage your own time across projects to ensure deliverables are met.
- Identify and report on any potential deviations from agreed scope of works.
About you
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering (chartered membership status – Engineers Australia).
- Consulting engineering experience – at a Senior level.
- A good understanding of design stages (OoM, PFS, FS, Execution).
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to influence, negotiate & build productive relationships.
- A keen eye for detail, good time management and a knack for problem-solving.
- Current right to work in Australia.
Key Accountabilities
- Design and deliver Electrical systems for Heavy Industry Mobile Equipment (HME) and Rail Development projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner.
- Contribute to design reviews and validation of various engineering designs and associated component selection suitable for application.
- Providing technical guidance on all Electrical Engineering Systems related to works being carried out, ensuring compliance to relevant standards.
- Develop technical specifications and scopes of work to meet project specific objectives.
- Monitor, interpret, and stay up to date with relevant regulatory requirements, standards, and directives applicable to our products and industry.
- Resolution of technical issues related to electrical design, standards and/or compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance into product development processes.
- Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets
- Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects
- Providing regular updates to the Principal Electrical Engineer including work progress, risks, and priorities.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Mining, Rail or Heavy Mobile Equipment.
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (essential)
- Experience with development of electrical standards, processes and procedures.
- Experience with Arc Flash Risk and management.
- Experience with Functional Safety standard and compliance.
- Experience with inverters, chargers and VSD with experience in electrical noise filtration is advantageous.
- Experience in designing high voltage DC power systems.
- Experience in contractor engagement and contractor management process.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence.
- Results driven, responsible and accountable.
- Strong knowledge of Australian and International standards relevant to Mining, Rail or Heavy Mobile Equipment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and address electrical risks.
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams.
- Knowledge of Electrical Drive System
- Knowledge of heavy mobile equipment Inverter systems
- Knowledge of Power Electrical/Electronic.
We are looking for a Senior Piping Designer with utilities piping and mechanical design experience to work across multiple sustaining capital projects within the mining industry. The role is on an initial 12-month contract based in Perth.
The client and its team continue to deliver design expertise for an array of project. You will play a crucial role in delivering piping engineering design services across a diverse range of projects from conceptual studies to commissioning within the mining and minerals sectors. What you will do
- Floating resource across multiple projects.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Designers, Engineers, and clients to share updates and address issues whilst adhering to high standards, procedures and policies.
- Identify and report on potential deviations – assess and track the effectiveness of designs, work scheduling, resource requirements, and review alignment with project execution plan and client expectations.
- Workshops, warehouses (e.g. lube systems, compressed air, water, oil – i.e. utilities piping design).
- Contribute to the development and implementation of practical solutions.
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attribute:
- Relevant Advanced Diploma, Diploma or Associate Degree in Mechanical or Piping Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in mining and utilities.
- Proficiency with MicroStation - 2D and 3D modelling is highly desirable.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable and able to work in sus cap - multiple projects at once & fast-paced.
- A keen eye for detail, good time management and innovative in problem solving.
- Our client will be moving to QV1 in June 2024 with modern facilities & great amenities.
- Exposure to different types of commodities, assets, equipment, unique design challenges. (as opposed to one project, designing the same things day in day out).
