Our Renewables client is seeking a Planner to work within their facilities in Melbourne, VIC Australia on an initial of 6-months contract.

Position: Planner      
Location: Melbourne, VIC
Duration: 6 months contract & potential for contract extension 
Schedule: Monday – Friday & 8 hours per day

Working within this company’s Development Team, the Project Scheduling Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining Project Schedules for the company’s development portfolio. Reporting to the Global Project Manager you will play an integral part in the Development team, working across multiple different functions, with the responsibility for providing planning and scheduling, to ensure the Development of project schedules.

Key Responsibilities
 
  • Create and maintain master schedules and project schedules for the development and construction phase of Wind, Solar and BESS storage projects within the Australia portfolio
  • Develop and maintain scheduling framework and templates for new projects
  • Dependency development and analysis/reporting for entire development and construction portfolio, identifying periods of high resourcing requirements
  • Provide a analysis and reporting at a Portfolio level, including dashboards and executive summaries for the Management Team
  • Maintain schedules and provide tracking against baselines and forecasts of key milestones
  • Be an active participant in team and project meetings by providing dashboard updates for activities a project and portfolio level
  • Create and establish processes for project schedules to ensure consistency across portfolio
  • Work with all relevant functions (development, engineering, construction, procurement, legal, partnering, commercial, and finance) to capture all necessary information for project schedules to ensure data integrity
  • Develop automations to schedules, and provide training to team members in use and interpretation of schedules
  • Identify and implement planning and scheduling improvement initiatives

Experience and Qualifications


Strongly desired
  • 5+ years experience as a scheduler/planner. Experience within renewables is desirable but not essential.
  • Understanding of the onshore Wind / Solar / Storage / Hybrid development process is desirable
  • Wind turbine, solar or storage supply industry knowledge is desirable
  • Ability to work cooperatively in cross-cultural teams, collaborating across country boundaries with a sense for diversity and inclusion
  • MS Proiect proficiency
  • Schedule management professional accreditation or qualification
  • Strong communication skills, analytical thinker with an ability to solve problems
  • Able to build and develop processes to improve efficiencies and streamline co-ordination
