The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to partner with our client to drive solutions that provide the energy, chemicals and resources that society needs now. 

Responsibilities 

  • You will be supporting a team of engineers and designer to delivery civil design of open and closed drainage structures, retaining walls, laydown and hardstands, underground drainage network and general civil design around processing plant.
  • Be responsible for the technical delivery all civil elements that is supported by calculation packages.
  • Perform supporting tasks such as:
    • Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures;
    • Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes;
    • Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.  For example, write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations and write purchase orders.
  • Scope management relating to the civil design;
  • Technical supervision of inexperience engineers;
  • Cross disciplinary coordination to ensure successful delivery of Customer’s requirements
  • Communicate effectively with the structural engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.

About YOU

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or relevant undergraduate degree with extensive experience in civil engineering design in the mining, energy and/or infrastructure sector and previous experience in either heavy industrial or petrochemical plant projects is not essential but advantageous.
  • Leadership in mining or fuels projects
  • Experience with managing drainage/ effluent system in petrochemical and exposure to petrochemical facilities is desirable.
  • Familiarity with software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD and with bulk earthworks design, drainage and heavy pavement design.
  • Worked with team with diverse background and proven experience in managing a project team and should be highly focused on delivery and service.
  • Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to its customers.
  • A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in using of various civil engineering specific software, proficient use of civil engineering specific software and exposure to MWRA design standards is desirable.
  • Experience in delivering complex civil engineering project experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
