Our client, an Energy company, is seeking a Project Controller with Carbon Capture experience to work a 1-year contract in Calgary, AB.

We are looking for a proficient Project Controller with extensive experience in planning, scheduling, and cost management, specifically within the realm of carbon capture projects. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial aspects of the projects, ensuring meticulous planning, effective resource allocation, and adherence to budgetary constraints while driving successful project outcomes. 

Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules, incorporating all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation to completion, with a specific focus on carbon capture initiatives.
  • Collaborate with project teams to accurately estimate project costs and develop detailed budgets, ensuring alignment with project objectives and financial constraints.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication channels with project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, financial status, and any relevant issues or concerns.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., PMP, CMA) is a plus.
  2. Proven experience in project controlling, planning, scheduling, and cost management, with a strong focus on carbon capture projects within the energy or environmental sector.
  3. Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, SAP) for scheduling, resource allocation, and cost tracking.
  4. Solid understanding of carbon capture technologies, processes, and associated financial implications, coupled with a keen awareness of industry trends and developments.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and generate actionable insights.
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  7. Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and precision, coupled with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving organization, with a proactive and results-driven approach to achieving project goals and objectives.
