ACTIVITIES:
Principle activities of the Project Engineer include;
  • Coordinate between the vessel operator, the MWS and the Total vetting department with the aim to arrange for the vessel suitability survey’s in an efficient manner.
  • Maintain a schedule with survey’s, reports and audit findings.
  • Coordinate with the vessel operators with regards to the resolutions of the findings.
  • Arrange for the review of the appropriate Transport and Installation procedures by the MWS.
  • Ensure that the comments are evaluated and responded to by the Transport and Installation contractors.
  • Arrange for discussions and meetings where necessary with the MWS and installation contractors.
  • Development and implementation of an action tracking process and registers and coordination and follow-up on actions.
  • Coordination of risks evaluation, update and reporting.
  • Coordination and capture of the close out of the vessel audit report inputs.
  • Coordination and capture of threats and opportunities for the Offshore Delivery scope.
  • Preparation of presentations, reports and other project deliverables with regards to the MWS scope of work.
  • Become thoroughly conversant with the vessel and project documentation, specifications.
Review Transport and Installation procedures

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
 
  • Timely delivery of all tasks and work scopes with regards to the MWS scope of work.
Conduct of all activities with due consideration of project HSE requirements and a pro-active adoption of the Project HSE culture
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES REQUIRED:
 
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering or technical subject.
  • A Track record in pipeline and subsea construction engineering, fabrication and installation activities with a minimum of 10 years relevant and direct experience in the MWS scope of work.
  • A strong affinity with vessels, audits and offshore installation procedures.
  • Capable to work autonomously with minimal management oversight once a work scope/activity has been clearly defined and objectives set.
  • Capable of coping with a large number of ongoing diverse activities including the ability to prioritize efforts in resolution of issues presenting highest risk to the project.
  • Ability to get along well with others in an international and multi-cultural environment and take a pragmatic approach to problem solving situations.
  • Ability to develop good team working relationships within the project team (including contractors and contracted personnel) and progress collaborative problem solving. 
  • Fluency in the English language.
Fluid communicator capable with excellent written and spoken communication skills (able to present complex issues in a professional and organized manner).

Context and environment:
 
  • US $20 Billion investment, 17,000-acre LNG facility site that includes private airstrip, marine facilities, and 18 subsea wells - 5-year construction period, delivered utilizing a staff of 1500+ employees and contractors based in Houston, Milan, Paris, Singapore and Mozambique
  • 12.88 MTPA from? 2 Initial Trains? - 25-year production period
  • Mozambique LNG is a subsea (1,400m) to shore dry gas field development located in the norther part of Mozambique
The subsea field will be developed via 18 subsea wells, 7-production manifolds, 1-MEG manifold, 3 x 22in trunk lines, a 6in and 8in MEG lines, 18 x 10in in-field flowlines, 2 x 4in in-field MEG lines, associated ILTs and PLETs for all pipelines and flowlines, 25 control modules, 4 onshore umbilicals, 2 main tie-back umbilicals, 5 in-field umbilicals, 12 UTA assemblies, 189 electro hydraulic flying leads, 48 x 10” flexible jumpers, rigid jumpers and spools.
