Airswift is working in partnership with a publicly traded manufacturer of nonwovens as roll goods for wipes as well as for medical and hygiene products, The companies strategy is to grow by creating innovative and sustainable nonwovens for their customers, whilst improving profitability through more efficient operations and a high-performance culture. 

The company is looking to hire into their centralized technology group a Project Manager to be based at their South Carolina facility. Over the first 12 months in this role, the new manager of Projects will work closely with the current incumbent who will retire in 2025, to knowledge share and gain an understand of the nuances and complexities of the facility, eventually allowing this individual to become the facility subject matter expert. Whilst the Manager, Projects will support daily plant issues and maintenance, they will also be responsible for managing and planning the facilities annual sustaining capital projects (approx. $1M CAPEX per year), with potential for other growth projects in the pipeline such as production improvement and new equipment installation projects.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manages technical projects responding to internal (safety, sustain and improve) and external (growth) enquiries that have a large impact on the current and future operations
  • Develops project plans (scope, time schedule, resource plans and budgets) and risk mitigation plans
  • Carries the overall responsibility of the project and ensures that project deliverables are met (scope, quality, timing, budget, payback)
  • Coordinate and manager internal and external resources (engineering companies, subcontractors, suppliers and OEMs) relating to project matters.
  • Participates to contracts preparation and negotiations with subcontractors, suppliers and OEMs
  • Reports on project status to top management and Steering teams
  • Assesses the capital investment needs related to Plant’s safety, line performances, equipment aging and environmental requirements to optimize and maintain safety, quality and efficiencies towards World Class level
  • Prepares all technical documentation relevant for the projects and participates to the Global Capex meetings
  • Provides technical support and troubleshooting expertise to the Plants, especially in case of extraordinary events
  • Interacts with internal stakeholders (Operations, Technology) and vendors to ensure adequate resources are available to deliver the project and that they are updated on project progress
Required Experience
  • 4+ years proven working experience in managing small to mid-scale projects in a continuous process manufacturing environment 
  • Experience utilizing design and project software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Inventor, MS Project,  Navisworks, SAP, MS Office suite, Visio or equivalent.
  • Multi disciplined experience across mechanical, civil, electrical and water controls
  • Excellent project management skills, specifically financial (building budgets), supervision of subcontractors, engineering and time keeping skills
  • Ability to influence without managing and successfully promote teamwork
  • Resilient with ability to stay calm and practical during stressful or emergency situations, offering a practical solution approach, creative problem-solving skills, can-do attitude and flexibility.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, accuracy and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills 
  • Time management skills, especially familiarity with calendar management and goal setting
Desirable Experience
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification
  • Experience with HVAC equipment
  • Knowledgeable with waste water treatment plants and equipment
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes, especially fire protection and electric codes
  • Nonwovens or Paper experience
