Our client is seeking a Compressor Engineer to work in Monrovia, CA with no initial end date
Responsibilities:
- With-in the Rotating engineering group, provides technical leadership by for execution activities and discipline deliverables for projects, participates in project execution strategy and planning activities.
- Knows the project goals and has ownership of the discipline scope/cost/time requirements.
- Ensures the team meets expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success.
- Performs administrative functions including implementation of management policies and procedures, implements the Company and Customers Procedures while seeking improvements to work processes and business approaches to better serve the project needs.
- Develops innovative technical solutions to complex problems.
- May be required to perform the following studies: Driver Selection (Gas/Electric/Steam), VFD motor Drives, Variable speed gears, bearing selections for compressors/motors.
- Must have experience with Reciprocating and Centrifugal compressors, Lube and Seal Oil systems, Gear box, and Mechanical Seal diagnostics.
- Should have sufficient experience in the Industry to be able to generate manpower requirements for differing scopes of work as activies are changed during a project.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of API, ANSI, NEMA, ASTM specifications. May be required to travel to the Vendors facilities.
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Typically, minimum of 10 years working with various Compressors and 4 years pump Engineering experience in Petroleum-Chemical, Oil & Gas Industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Emphasis on Centrifugal and Reciprocating compressor experience, with working knowledge of API 613, 614, 616, 617, 618, 670 and 671. PE registration is desired, Aramco experience is preferred.
- Will be required to develop/check specifications, data sheets, technical bids, purchase orders, resolve technical queries from vendors on various Compressor and Pump equipment, able to coordinate project requirements with other disciplines, project staff and clients. Will be required to maintain quality of group deliverables through-out the procurement of the equipment. Will be required to support work share activities with other offices on Rotating Equipment deliverables. Demonstrable commitment to HSE Management in a project Environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work
We are currently recruiting a Lead Design Engineer or Design Engineer for a leading manufacturer of trackwork and rail equipment solutions.
An understanding of Track component design, including turnouts and crossovers is highly desirable.
Location- Sydney, NSW
Duration- Permanent
Salary- $120,000 - $170,000 + Super
Responsibilities
- Sector knowledge of client / rail operators in both heavy haul and passenger rail sectors to understand their requirements and any track performance issues
- In-house engineering including:
- Design / Consulting
- FEA
- Modelling
- 2D & 3D Drawing??????
- Design of bespoke products including:
- Turnouts
- Crossovers
- Diamonds
- Slips
- Bearers and sleeper
- Implementing Design Changes / modifications to improve track performance
- Manufacturing process improvement
Required Experience
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Civil preferred)
- 4+ years track design engineering experience, ideally including turnout component design
- On-site delivery experience within the rail track domain – heavy haul / mining or passenger rail
- Knowledge of wheel-rail interface
- Familiarity with either AutoCAD or Ansys software
- General understanding of manufacturing cost reduction methods

- Have basic knowledge / sales experience in fields such as data centers, logistics, semiconductors, environmentally friendly facilities, hospitals, station buildings, etc.
- Have experience and basic knowledge of new business fields related to construction(real estate investment and development, energy, environmental business, etc.)
