Project Manager - 1 year contract assignment - Lake Mary, FL

Airswift is seeking a Project Manager to support our Utilities client on a 1 year contract assignment local to Lake Mary, FL.


This role carries singular accountability and may operate under the general guidance of a Project Director, Senior Project Manager, or Project Management Manager. The Project Manager II (PM-II) is tasked with overseeing or assisting in the management of all aspects of project planning and execution. The primary goal is to ensure the achievement of key project success factors, encompassing scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental considerations, safety, communication, security, and integration.

Typically assigned to multiple projects per the Project Management Center of Excellence Project Profile Matrix, the PM-II handles projects ranging from $5 million to $50 million. These projects exhibit a low to moderate level of complexity, potentially impacting the company at the facility or department level, as well as involving Senior Management and External Agencies.

As a unifying force, the Project Manager provides leadership, management, direction, coordination, and control for the overall project, aligning with The Company's established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements. This position is regarded as a leadership role, with minimum qualifications necessary for placement, and progression to this level is typically restricted based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, oversight, delegation, and coordination for internal and external organizations involved in the project.
  • Manage all team members daily and interface with functional managers regarding placement, development, and conflict resolution.
  • Lead or assist in leading project-related meetings and reports to ensure open communication among team members, stakeholders, and management.
  • Drive the project planning process, encompassing scope definition, estimating, schedule monitoring, cost control, procurement/contracting strategies, and integration processes.
  • Oversee project planning and execution activities, including scope definition, detailed design, construction, start-up and commissioning, turnover to operations, and warranty management.
  • Develop and manage Project Plan and reports according to PMCoE Standards, presenting them skillfully to the appropriate management/governance team.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 years of related work experience executing Transmission and/or Distribution projects.
  • In the absence of a Bachelor's degree, a High School/GED AND 9 years of related work experience executing Transmission and/or Distribution projects.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in project management, business administration, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
