Airswift is seeking a Senior Benefits Advisor to work for one of our major Oil & Gas clients in Calgary, AB, on a 2-year contract.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Well-being, Disability Management & Benefits, the successful candidate will support the design of Company’s Canadian benefits programs and be responsible for effective management of the programs, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities

• Lead the design of Company’s Canadian benefits programs and identify leading-edge practices and opportunities that reflect Company’s culture and would enhance the employee experience.
• Work collaboratively with benefits stakeholders and partners including program administrators, third-party consultants, actuaries, internal teams, and legal to ensure the benefits programs are being administered in scope, in compliance with applicable tax regulations, and in alignment with Company’s values and policies.
 • Develop, monitor, and maintain policies and procedures related to benefits (vacation, hours of work, post-retirement benefits, etc.).
• Manage outside consultants, vendors, and business partners, ensuring that plan members receive superior customer service.
• Manage complex questions and escalations on benefit matters, including internal policy and practices.
• Oversee the Canadian annual benefits renewal to assess competitiveness, implement and communicate rate changes, and complete annual enrollment activities.
• Oversee the administration of multiple retiree benefit programs, including accurate record-keeping, compliance with relevant regulations, and clear and timely communication to and with retirees.
• Oversee the annual post-retirement benefits valuation.
• Oversee and support payroll, HRIS, and vendors to ensure system, files, and processes are up to date, and accurate to ensure data integrity. Resolve data/system issues as required.
• Lead/manage / support annual benefits projects as required.
• Manage benefit program resources and materials including employee intranet pages, communications, and information sessions to promote and improve employee understanding and engagement of benefits programs.
• Develop and deliver internal benefits program and policy training for team members, HR advisory, and operations to provide employee support and ensure alignment of internal processes, practices, and standards.
• Support international, US, and expat benefits programs, as required.
• Participate in strategic program reviews and implementing projects, as required.
• Participate in the review and updates of internal processes, practices and standards with a continuous improvement perspective.
• Participate as a member of the Total Rewards team and collaborate on broader HR initiatives as required.

Qualifications

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Minimum 7 years related experience in benefits design and administration.
• Undergraduate degree in a related discipline. CEBs or similar designations would be an asset.
• Proficient with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• HRIS system expertise; Workday and SAP are preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Canadian benefits, including pertinent regulatory framework and legislation.
• Knowledge of relocation practices and Canadian pension plans would be an asset.
• Excellent communicator, evidenced by strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills with the ability to handle changing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills able to engage with employees and teams throughout the Company.
• Strong project management and vendor management.
• Strong team player with a collaborative work style, committed to confidentiality.

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week.
• Hybrid model: the professional can choose 1 day to work from home.
