Airswift is seeking a Senior Communications Advisor to work with one of our clients in the oil and gas industry in Calgary, AB on a 12-month contract.


• Work with members of the Company’s Communications team and external vendors to tell the Company’s story through external digital, paid media, social media and internal properties.

• Provide expertise with writing and editing advertising copy for campaigns in both the U.S. and Canada.

• Act as liaison and coordinate with Company contracted agencies on corporate initiatives including advertising, market research and media buying services.

• Tracking budgets and reporting progress on campaigns.

• Provide communications counsel to senior leaders, primarily around marketing initiatives.

• Contribute to mitigating potential risks to the Company’s reputation; promote and enhance the company’s brand and reputation as a responsible oil and natural gas developer.

• Carry out other external or internal assignments, as required.

Deliverables

• Reporting on efficacy of advertising campaigns with input from external agencies.

• Communicating Company messaging to external agencies.

• Editing and communicating ad copy and digital content.

• Managing reviews and approvals with internal subject matter experts.

Competencies

The role requires strong skills in the following areas:

• Superior writing and personal communications skills for business and general audiences.

• Excellent critical and strategic thinking skills.

• Strong experience providing strategic marketing communications counsel to senior leaders.

• Demonstrated experience in writing corporate communications plans and advertising campaign support materials.

• Hands-on experience developing and/or overseeing the execution of external communications and advertising campaigns.

• Previous experience working collaboratively with outside agencies and familiarity with key industry-related terms and documents.

• Ability to build strong cross-team working relationships within a corporate setting and with external agencies.

• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.

• Comfort working to deadline and ability to be flexible when facing evolving priorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of professional communications and/or marketing experience

• Experience or familiarity with the Canadian oil and gas industry and a strong understanding of current issues are assets.

• Experience working with external agencies or account management within an advertising agency with large corporate clients

This one-year contract position involves focusing on the execution of various advertising campaigns within the operations of the company, contributing strategic direction to external agencies and budget tracking.
