Airswift is looking for a Sr. Controls Systems Engineer to work with a major LNG Client in Houston, for an initial 1-year assignment likely to be extended.

Member of a multi-discipline Engineering Team providing suitable Instrumentation and Control Engineering guidance and assistance, construction oversight, and operations support, for managed projects within the E&C department during Pre-FEED and FEED. Additional support will be required for development and review of Corporate specifications.
KNOWLEDGE
The ideal candidate will have design experience for large industrial facilities including LNG facilities and will review discipline-specific deliverables, including specifications & datasheets (instrumentation, automated valves, flow and temperature elements, analyzers, etc.); calculations; block diagrams; cause and effect matrices; functional descriptions, controls list (BOM, I/O, Alarm and Setpoint Lists) as well participation in site walkdowns at either the project's facilities. He/she will be expected to maintain timeliness, accuracy, and thoroughness throughout project lifecycles. This individual will work in a team environment to oversee projects in the I&C discipline and will likely participate in more than one project at a time. Travel to support project execution could be up to 10%.
RESPONSIBLITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Examine EPC contractor instrumentation and control design for consistency and to meet all other engineering discipline requirements, including but not limited to:
• Understanding of Safety Logic definition including Cause & Effect, and logic narratives.
• Understanding of DCS/SIS/FGS & SCADA systems.
• Review Instrument location plans, Installation details against best practices, specification & standards.
• Understand compliance of instrument design with applicable codes and regulations. Provide input on instrument design as necessary.
• Understanding of process & safety instrumentation applications.
• Understand Process Control and Safety system input to P&IDs.
• Understand Instrument Index, I/O List.
• Understanding of instrument Selection and Sizing Calculations; review instrument datasheets.
• Understand Instrument Specifications & Technical Bid Tabulations.
• Review Equipment layout drawings.
• Support for agency compliance efforts (FERC, PHMSA)
• Participate in P&ID, Process Hazard Analyses, and Model Reviews and provide technical support to other risk assessments, design reviews, and constructability reviews.
• Willingness to travel as business requirements dictate.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS)
Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university. A Professional Engineer (PE) License in good standing is preferred. Must possess or be able to attain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.

Experience: Minimum of six (6) years in Instrumentation and Controls design, preferably with EPC experience. Experience evaluating, selecting appropriate instrumentation and instrumentation drawing and datasheet review against specifications as well as best practices. Working knowledge of Oil and Gas industry codes and standards.

• Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
• Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
