Position: Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Perth, WA

Period of Contract: 12 months

The Role:

  1. Design and deliver Electrical systems for Heavy Industry Mobile Equipment (HME) and Rail Development projects in a safe, timely, and sustainable manner.
  2. Lead design reviews and validation of various engineering designs and associated component selection suitable for application.
  3. Provide technical guidance and governance on all Electrical Engineering Systems related to works being carried out, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  4. Develop technical specifications to meet project-specific objectives.
  5. Mentor the electrical engineering team to contribute to the successful delivery of the project.
  6. Monitor, interpret, and stay up-to-date with relevant regulatory requirements, standards, and directives applicable to our products and industry.
  7. Resolve technical issues related to electrical design, standards, and/or compliance.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance into product development processes.
  9. Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets.
  10. Liaise with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects.
  11. Provide regular updates to the Principal Electrical Engineer, including work progress, risks, and priorities.


  • Minimum of 10 years of robust experience in Mining, Rail, or Heavy Mobile Equipment.
  • Proven track record in developing electrical standards, processes, and procedures.
  • In-depth experience with Hazardous materials and Hazardous Area Awareness.
  • Expertise in Functional Safety standards and compliance.
  • Familiarity with inverters, chargers, and VSD, with a focus on electrical noise filtration considered advantageous.
  • Proficient in designing high voltage DC power systems.
  • Skilled in SAP work management.
  • Previous involvement in contractor engagement and management processes.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, with a commitment to excellence.
  • Results-driven, responsible, and accountable.


  • In-depth understanding of Australian and International standards relevant to Mining, Rail, or Heavy Mobile Equipment.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and address compliance risks.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and contribute to multidiscipline teams.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Drive Systems and heavy mobile equipment inverter systems.
  • Understanding of Power Electrical/Electronics.

  • Electrical Engineering degree.
  • EEHA Certification (Desirable).
