Airswift are partnered with an Energy provider and have a role of Technical Writer to work on 12 months contract assignment and ongoing in Perth, WA.

Position: Senior Planner
Duration: 12 months and potential for extension
Location: Perth

Position Purpose:
Responsible for the overall evaluation and control of the assigned project schedules and performs schedule development, maintenance and monitoring of the planning/scheduling activities.

Main Accountabilities:
  • Using planning software, create a schedule from the proposal scope of work. Allocate dates, durations, constraints, logical links, resources and external links. Maintain and update schedule. Produce a schedule in Primavera P6 or MS Project with a high level of detail, describing proposed activities, durations and resources that can be used to form the basis of the proposal estimate
  • Using corporate planning software, create a project control schedule (PCS) from the Project Scope of Work. Create WBS, allocate dates, durations, constraints, logical links, resources and external links. Produce and maintenance of a schedule with a high level of detail, describing proposed activities and durations. Produce updated schedules for Monthly Reports. Provide an ongoing view of project status.
  • Re-baseline project schedule when required.
  • Create and maintain additional detail schedules as required to support the CCS. Produce and maintain schedules as required to support CCS.
  • Update project schedule activity durations and resource allocations as required in conjunction with project cost controller to update project forecast whilst keeping it current and correct.
  • Update project schedule as required to reflect changes in work scope and proposed work methodology and ensure they are current and correct.
  • Cross discipline manpower forecasting using schedule to assess resource requirements. Produce an accurate report of required manpower.
  • Cross tender/proposal resource forecasting to assess resource requirements. Produce an accurate report of required resources.
  • Undertake progress measurement. From schedule, use available software to calculate weightings and progress curves. Report progress regularly. Produce an up-to-date Reports of Progress.
  • Provide input to project weekly and monthly reports. Produce project status tables, S curves narratives of achievements, concerns and any corrective actions required.
  • Provide input to possible alternative work methodologies (what ifs) and changes to the schedule. Assist with improvement to the schedule.
  • Create and maintain project progress measurement systems production of tables and S curves as required. This involves the setup of the Engineering deliverable measurement system, as well as tracking and updating progress achieved, monitoring and updating the forecast deliverable dates in conjunction with the Engineering manager. Setup of the construction progress measurement system (CPMS) based on physical quantities planned to be installed, as well as tracking and updating progress achieved, monitoring and updating the forecast completion dates in conjunction with the Construction Manager.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification preferred
  • Recognised project planning/scheduling qualifications preferred
  • Knowledge of EPC and EPCM planning / scheduling requirements
  • Understanding of project planning activities
  • In depth knowledge of Primavera P6 software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the oil & gas industry. Upstream, downstream, processing, onshore, offshore and subsea
  • Significant experience of a wide range of projects including offshore installation, Commissioning
  • Exposure to a construction project environment preferred
