Our client, a major Engineering company, is looking for a Sr. Project Director to work on an initial 2-year contract in Long Beach, CA.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight and technical direction to a group of people in project management, including project engineering coordinators, project engineers, project managers, and portfolio managers.
  • Identification, selection, hiring, training, and development of people and managing their assignments. 
  • Delivery of projects in compliance with company requirements. 
  • Plan, organize, manage, and control department budgets with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the client.
  • Responsible for a project management department or sub-group of 30 or less.
  • Operational leaders implementing strategies within a complex area requiring a broad grasp of practices or principles in a highly specialized field or in a cross-functional setting.
  • Oversee large-scale projects with responsibility for the full performance of the project.
  • Manage projects and monitor progress in an ordered, accurate way, and provide accurate and timely information.
  • May be involved in networking, negotiations, strategic alliancing, and cost savings efforts. Stewards the maintenance of pricing records reflecting the effort to complete discipline activities.
  • HSE Leadership - lead HSE conversations, and contribute to HSE site walks, assessments, and incident Investigations.
  • Experienced in the use of company project delivery methodology and associated tools for large and mega-complex projects.
  • Mastered each of the three core PC areas.
  • Manage cash flow requirements, including accounts receivable, and work in progress to minimize days sales outstanding (DSO).
Qualifications:
  • University Degree, or equivalent, in Engineering, Project management, and Construction
  • Professional registration in local jurisdiction preferred; Certified Program Management Professional by a globally recognized project management organization (IPMA, APM, PMI, AIPM).
  • 15-20 years’ experience, including 15+ years of relevant supervisory,  project management and/or technical experience.
