We are working with a Major Maritime operator in Qatar to source a Site Supervisor - Rigging, Blasting & Painting and Fabrication. As a Site Supervisor (TCN) for the SPM Buoy construction project, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the on-site activities related to rigging, blasting & painting, and fabrication specific to the SPM Buoy. Your primary role will be to ensure the successful execution of these construction operations, adhering to project specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards. You will collaborate closely with the project team, subcontractors, and stakeholders to achieve timely completion of the SPM Buoy construction while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Title: Site Supervisor - Rigging, Blasting & Painting and Fabrication
Start Date: Negotiable (typically within 1 month notice)
 Duration: 11 Months.
Location: Doha - Shipyard - 6 Days
 

Minimum Qualification/Experiences/Skills required:

  • Education & Professional Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, or Marine Engineering) is preferred., or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional Experience: Previous experience in design engineering or drafting for Projects or similar offshore structures is advantageous.
  • Market Knowledge:
    • Strong technical drawing skills, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Knowledge of drafting techniques, standards, and best practices relevant to Project design.
    • Understanding of design principles and engineering concepts specific to Projects.
    • Familiarity with naval architecture and marine engineering principles, particularly related to Project design, is preferred.
  • Geographic Experience: GCC Market is Preferable
  • Communications & Presentation Skills:
    • Ability to interpret and translate design concepts into comprehensive and precise drawings for Projects.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams involved in Project projects.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in the context of Project design.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to propose innovative solutions specific to Project design challenges.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.






 

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

 

Site Supervision and Coordination:
  • Oversee and supervise the day-to-day rigging, blasting & painting, and fabrication activities at the SPM Buoy construction site.
  • Coordinate with the project team, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project schedules.
  • Monitor the progress of work, resolve any on-site issues or conflicts, and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Safety and Quality Assurance:
  • Enforce strict compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards throughout the SPM Buoy construction project.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and implement appropriate safety measures to mitigate risks.
  • Monitor the quality of workmanship, materials, and equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

Resource Management:
  • Efficiently allocate and manage resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to meet the requirements of the SPM Buoy construction.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to the construction site.
  • Monitor resource utilization, productivity, and efficiency to optimize the construction process.

Technical Expertise and Troubleshooting:
  • Possess a strong understanding of rigging, blasting & painting, and fabrication techniques, processes, and best practices relevant to SPM Buoy construction.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the project team and workers, resolving any technical issues or challenges that may arise.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of project specifications.

Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of on-site activities, including progress reports, daily logs, and incident reports specific to the SPM Buoy construction.
  • Prepare reports on the status of the SPM Buoy construction, productivity, resource utilization, and other relevant information as required.
  • Collaborate with the project team to generate as-built documentation and contribute to project closeout reports.

Stakeholder Communication:
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with the project team, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders involved in the SPM Buoy construction.
  • Conduct regular meetings and provide updates on the progress, milestones, and any issues that may impact the construction schedule or quality.


Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency in rigging, blasting & painting, and fabrication activities specific to the SPM Buoy construction.
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in rigging, blasting & painting, and fabrication techniques applicable to SPM Buoy construction.
