Airswift is seeking a SPIE Inspector to work on a permanent contract in Rio de Janeiro, with a major Oil & Gas Company.
Carry out, or witness, inspections of equipment to meet SPIE program
Carry out, or witness, or ensure the performance of the tests, measurements, tests, and examinations necessary to evaluate the physical conditions of the equipment under its control, including safety devices, and quality check of repairs and modifications, based on written procedures where applicable.
Compare the results obtained during the inspection with the established criteria and: o decide whether the equipment is in satisfactory condition to operate. o inform the inspection results to the area authority (Superintendent) and recommend the repairs or replacements that may be necessary to restore the physical conditions to satisfactory levels.
Record and analyse the results of inspections, modifications and repairs comparing them with other information (e.g., operational history, bibliography), to identify the mechanisms of deterioration or failures of equipment in service, prevent their occurrence or repetition, and review parameters of the inspection program.
Keep records of inspections and service reports related in traceable and updated files, including observed physical conditions, measurements, tests, corrosion rate calculations, residual life, calibration of inspection apparatus, etc.
Record and control the progress of the recommendations issued resulting from the inspections carried out.
Propose modifications, aiming to prevent or mitigate the deterioration processes to which the equipment is subject.
Perform, or witness, or ensure that receipt of equipment, its spares and other materials are being carried out.
Participate in commissions aimed at identifying the causes of failures of equipment in service under SPIE's control (technical expertise).
Experience working as a SPIE inspector and having worked on FPSOs or platforms.
