Our client, Aboriginal Corporation is hiring for Community Development Officer to work on FIFO role facilities in Wiluna, Western Australia on a permanent basis.

Job Summary:
The Community Development Officer, in a FIFO capacity, based in Wiluna, WA plays a crucial role in driving community development initiatives and fostering positive change within the designated area. This position involves a dynamic schedule where the officer spends three days on-site, engaging directly with community members, and one day in the office for planning, coordination, and reporting purposes. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders, local organizations, and community members to identify needs, develop programs, and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being and resilience of the community.

Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement and Outreach:
  • Spend three days per week in Wiluna, actively engaging with community members, leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct outreach activities, such as community meetings, workshops, and events, to gather input and foster dialogue.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the community to ensure effective collaboration and partnership.
Program Development and Implementation:
  • Work closely with community members and stakeholders to identify needs and develop tailored programs and initiatives.
  • Implement community development projects, ensuring they align with community priorities and objectives.
  • Coordinate resources, volunteers, and partners to support program activities effectively.

Monitoring and Evaluation:
 
  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the impact and effectiveness of community development initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze data to track progress, identify successes, and address areas for improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and outcomes to stakeholders.
Office-Based Activities:
  • Dedicate one day per week to office-based tasks, including planning, coordination, and administrative duties.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, participate in meetings, and contribute to organizational initiatives as required.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting of activities and outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Community Development, Social Work, Sociology, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in community development, grassroots organizing, or related work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion.
  • Knowledge of local government structures, policies, and community resources (preferred).
  • Proficiency in relevant computer software and technology applications.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to adhere to a FIFO schedule and travel as required.
