Airswift is currently looking for a Senior Desktop Support Technician, for one of our major clients in the Oil and Gas industry – in Anchorage, AK. This position has a 9/80 schedule and is on-site for a 1-year contract. (Only authorized to work in the US)
 


JOB OVERVIEW
Resolves desktop support requests efficiently. Configures, troubleshoots, and repairs desktop/laptop hardware and software, mobile devices, printers, scanners, copiers, and other peripherals. Ensures seamless interconnection of desktop computers with network drives and business applications. Communicates directly with customers via phone, email, and remote diagnostics to identify and resolve reported issues. Independently troubleshoots support requests and follows escalation policies. Participates in testing, documentation, and project implementation. Manages hardware inventory per division policies and handles infrastructure cabling between computers and network services. Requires 3-7 years of experience. Provides technical, functional, and administrative support with a general working knowledge of departmental systems and procedures.


JOB DETAILS
• Provides deskside and remote support for Personal Computing environments at the Client's Anchorage location.
• Performs technical support, assembly, installation, and moving of computers, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals. Maintains hardware inventories for on-site and remote support.
• Offers executive IT support and high-level troubleshooting for hardware and software issues.
• Supports Windows 10, Mac OS, iOS devices, and Office 365 products including OneDrive.
• Addresses technically complex desktop support issues.
• Collaborates with IT support teams in Alaska, Bartlesville, and Houston for seamless user support.
• Provides training and consultation to end users. Assists in selecting standard hardware and software solutions.
• Conducts certified warranty and non-warranty repair of Dell computers.
• Manages small to medium local projects and participates in IT initiatives.
• Provides ancillary support for meeting room issues, inventories, and users.


REQUIRED
• Valid Driver's License
• 3+ years of experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Office 365 applications
including Onedrive

• Ability to lift/move equipment up to 30 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodation)
• High School Diploma/GED
• Able to work a 40-hour workweek schedule of 9/40 in Anchorage


PREFERRED
• A+ Certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months of starting)
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, or related field, or associate degree in Information
• Knowledge of WAN/LAN, COE Desktop, Core Business Applications, and Desktop Products
• Interest and experience in the Energy industry
• 5+ years of desktop, server, and network/systems support
• 3+ years of experience evaluating enterprise client hardware
• 1+ year of meeting room technology support
• Experience with Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
• Strong Active Directory knowledge and experience in group policy administration
• Ability to present to small or medium-sized groups
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with direct customer interaction
• Demonstrates accountability, ethical decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Actively listens, seeks collaboration, and builds positive relationships across organizational boundaries
