The Field Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of engineering projects within the plant. This individual will be responsible for reviewing design changes, conducting walk-downs, planning work order tasks, estimating costs, and overseeing the implementation of high-risk projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review design changes and assess their impact on field implementation, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct walk-downs and assess design for constructability, identifying any discrepancies between design specifications and actual field conditions within the nuclear plant environment.
- Plan work order tasks, including scheduling, manpower allocation, and estimating costs, while considering the unique challenges and requirements of nuclear power operations.
- Provide detailed reports on manpower loading and scheduling to ensure efficient project execution and resource utilization.
- Coordinate with Implementation Managers to oversee and instruct personnel implementing high-risk projects, ensuring strict adherence to nuclear safety protocols and procedures.
- Execute special projects alongside a team of multi-craft workers, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with nuclear safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Provide comprehensive training and guidance to personnel, emphasizing safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Verify quality control measures to ensure that work is completed to the highest standards and in accordance with nuclear safety requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between Implementation Managers, planners, and design engineers, facilitating effective communication and collaboration across departments.
- Make necessary drawing corrections in the field based on as-found/as-built conditions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with nuclear safety standards and regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of nuclear safety regulations, standards, and procedures.
- Strong understanding of nuclear power plant systems, components, and operations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, with a keen attention to detail.
