KEY ROLE

The Operation Specialist role is a key position within the Project Operations organisation that integrates all required change to existing operational facilities through the P&O Production Management of Change system (currently eMOC). The aim is for Major and Cat-B Projects to ensure the correct engineers and operational personnel are involved in the assessment of risk of a change, and that the change is effectively managed to reduce risk.

The role requires someone with good interpersonal skills that is strong and conflict resolution and has an ability to be dogmatic with regards to action tracking and closure for given MOCs.
 

BASIC SKILLS

Understanding of unit operations of offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities
Good communication and interpersonal skills & technical writing skills / use of office 365 / sharepoint and Teams etc.
Ability to read and mark-up / redline P&IDs and technical drawings as required for a given change if driven by Project ops team.
Work with project, commissioning and design contractors to obtain required technical drawings for a given change if driven by a project scope.
Performance management skills to co-ordinate and manage a large number of eMOCs simultaneously.
Ability to escalate and highlight performance issues with risk management of change to Project POMs and Regional POM as required

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Higher National Diploma or High School diploma

EXPERIENCE

Extensive and relevant onshore or offshore operating experience in oil and gas facilities.
Demonstrated communication skills and ability to network and influence across organizational boundaries.
Understands how to influence Project decision making.
Understands risk management and how to lead risk assessments.
Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a team.
Ability to travel to/from operating facilities

RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES

Leads the co-ordination of all Project eMOCs for AGT region and integrates project / brownfield scopes through eMOC and operational systems to manage risk of change to existing facilities through robust eMOC process.
Leads Risk Assessments for Change Management (eMOC), using “What if” techniques, helps RA team identify controls and ensures residual risk of changes are approved at appropriate level in P&O production organization for all project changes.
Ensures timely closure of eMOC pre-implement actions to allow timely execution.
Ensures timely closure of eMOC post implement actions following execution to enable update  documents / data /records and systems within 90 days of execution of eMOC.
Single point of accountability for interfaces with Facilities support engineers, Facility support squad leaders and project engineers / contractors to integrate change management scope into operational facilities.
