Position: Process Safety Engineer (m/w/d)
Location: Cologne, Germany
Contract: 12 months (with potential for extension or rollover to client)

Overview: In the ever-evolving landscape of engineering, safety is paramount. As a Process Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in integrating safety considerations into the very fabric of our projects. Join us in championing Process Safety by Design, ensuring that safety is not just a priority, but an inherent aspect of our engineering excellence.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with project teams to embed safety principles into every stage of the design process.

Conduct thorough hazard analyses, including HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID, What-IF, FMEA, and SIL assessments.

  • Lead discussions and workshops to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate design options to optimize safety while maintaining project objectives.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering, operations, and safety teams to ensure alignment.
  • Provide expert guidance on process safety standards and best practices.
  • Champion a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Proven experience in process safety engineering within the petrochemical or related industry in Germany.
  • In-depth knowledge of Seveso, health & safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change.
  • Proficiency in German and English (mandatory!).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to work in the office at least three days per week.
