My client, a world leading energy company, is looking to hire a Project Controls Lead on a contractual basis.

The contract will be an initial 6-9 month contract - and if the project moves forward - will be extended for another 18 months.

The role will be a hybrid (x2 days from home, x3 days Downtown Houston).

The Project Control Lead will:

  • Lead Project Control Team: Develop and lead the Project Control team to ensure adequate support for all project-related matters.
  • Administer Technical Contracts: Manage technical contracts, including Owner engineering, FEED contractor, and Construction support, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Facilitate Meetings: Assist in organizing and conducting the FEED Kick-Off Meeting and phase reviews as required.
  • Coordinate Integrated Planning: Implement global monitoring of integrated planning, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • Conduct Progress Meetings: Schedule and facilitate weekly/monthly progress meetings, tracking project milestones and deliverables.
  • Monitor Reporting Activities: Oversee weekly/monthly reporting, cost control, document control, and scheduling activities for accurate project status updates.
  • Prepare Tender Documents: Handle the preparation of Call for Tender (CFT) documents, including contract agreements, exhibits, and Invitation to Tender (ITT).
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Legal Teams: Work with procurement and legal teams to ensure proper contract management, including evaluation, negotiation, and administration.
  • Support Contract Management: Assist with vendor selection, contract administration, change management, and claims management activities.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to address project control-related issues.
  • Develop Procedures and Tools: Develop and maintain project control procedures, tools, and templates to standardize and streamline processes.
  • Monitor Risks: Monitor project risks, identify potential issues, and implement mitigation measures.
  • Provide Decision Support: Support project management in decision-making by providing accurate project control data and analysis.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Proven experience in project control, contract administration, and project support services, preferably in the biogas or renewable energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of project control methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with technical contracts, contract management principles, and industry-standard contract forms.
  • Proficiency in project management software, document control systems, and scheduling tools.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
