Job Overview
Our esteemed client is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to join their team in Perth, WA on an initial 12-month contract basis. The role will support the development, communication, execution and monitoring of environmental strategy, approvals, and compliance across mining & resources business, with a specialised focus on rail sustaining capital and rail major projects.

What you will be doing:
  • Work collaboratively with leadership, client teams, project managers, and other stakeholders across multiple projects to offer strategic guidance aimed at achieving optimal environmental outcomes.
  • Develop, review, and sustain various components of approvals and management systems to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices.
  • Engage in site visits across Western Australia to gain firsthand insights and contribute effectively to project initiatives.
  • Mentor, nurture, and support junior members of the environmental team, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Seamlessly integrate with project teams, offering timely and tailored strategic advice to address environmental considerations.
  • Oversee the delivery of environmental management activities, ensuring adherence to compliance standards and regulations.

What we hope you'll bring:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science/Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the mining/resource sector.
  • Technical expertise in conducting environmental impact assessments and obtaining approvals, particularly in the Pilbara region and its surroundings.
  • Familiarity with current State and Federal Environmental Legislation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse project teams.
  • Willingness to visit sites on an as-needed basis.
  • Proficiency in GIS, including the ability to identify and address potential environmental impacts, handle extensive spatial data, and execute environmental/GIS models.
