We are currently recruiting for a Engineer Manager - The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing the engineering department supporting projects and maintenance. The person will stay in close contact with the project managers during the feasibility phase, FEED, the detailed engineering, the construction, the commissioning and start-up phase of projects.
Responsibilities
- Managing the human resources needed to fulfil the objectives of the Engineering function.
- Administering the functions of engineering for Turn Arounds, Brownfield and Green Field Projects ensuring engineering consistency of approach and integration between the projects and maintenance activities.
- Setting the knowledge and skill standards for the engineering department to deliver effectively engineering services to the project teams.
- Advising and coaching employees on a daily basis.
- Improving the overall effectiveness of the engineering disciplines through training, coaching, mentoring and exposure.
- The development of a Proficiency Scale to provide a consistent framework that enables relevant discussion about developmental needs against a specific competency.
- The development of a succession planning for the engineering department together with the HR department.
- The development of a strategy to optimize the balance between continuity of experience and knowledge and the need for the variable workforce.
- Keeping standards and procedures up to date.
- Exploring opportunities to make the function’s processes more efficient.
- Establish a safety-first culture.
- Manages the daily operations of the Engineering department ensuring teamwork to achieve the best possible performance meeting set targets.
- Directs and manages the following functions: Piping/Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and CSA.
- Oversees the recruitment, development, and retention of employees under his direction.
- Review project specifications, and supports refining the project’s scope and execution plans.

- Has relevant working experience with up- and/or downstream oil and gas companies.
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Manage and support project teams in a matrix organization.
- Manage and support engineering and construction contractors
- Pro-active, good people management, communication and presentation skills.
- Good knowledge about how to implement procedures and best practices.
- Good planning skills.
- Good negotiation skills.

Controls Engineer

Responsibilities
- Take part in Software & Controls development, test and deployment both on individual- and team basis
- Delivery and Customization of existing control- and HMI systems, Siemens TIA portal
- Contribute to continuous improvements by idealization and hands-on experience from equipment in operation
- Some travel is required
- Support to Installation & Commissioning Teams
- Participate in FMECA, design reviews and other Quality Assuring activities related to control systems and HMI
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Control Systems, or equivalent.
- Preferred experience in Installation & Commissioning.
- Proficiency in Allen Bradley and WAGO IO cards with peripherals.
- Advantageous to have both remote and on-site support experience during Installation & Commissioning.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with TIA Portal.
- Familiarity with Unified WinCC and S7-1500 or S7-1200 PLCs.
- Programming expertise in Ladder Logic (LAD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Structured Control Language (SCL).

The Role
This is a Perth based contracting role on an initial 12-month contract on a Monday to Friday schedule.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the systems engineering process from analysis to validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate components for seamless product functionality.
- Participate in design reviews to address integration issues early in development.
- Coordinate multiple subsystem teams to ensure optimal compatibility and performance.
- Develop and oversee prototype creation for integration testing and adjustments.
- Plan and execute verification tests to meet design requirements and standards.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to integrate third-party components to meet standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues during design and development.
- Maintain detailed records of integration processes and test results.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technologies for continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical/Electrical/Software/Systems Engineering or related field.
