Colombia Shale Exploration

Case Study

Background

Our relationship with this client spans more than a decade with an extensive project list in 10 countries. Our experience partnering with our client in Angola led to the Frontier Exploration and Drilling team to trust Airswift with new operations in multiple countries.

Challenge

Our client assumed ownership of the VMM-3 block in Colombia’s middle Magdalena River Valley in 2015. They initially needed to staff and mobilise a team from Peru to Bogotá, Colombia, and as the program progressed, our client needed to bring additional contractors in various roles including drilling and HSE.

Airswift Solution

Airswift utilised our team in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Bogotá, Colombia to provide a complete life cycle of services to our clients and contractors. Our team of highly experienced, full-time employees provided ongoing support from Latin America as well as in Houston, Texas including:

  • Accurate and timely on-boarding and immigration services
  • Coordination of any emergency medical treatment or personal protective equipment (PPE) when required
  • Logistics and work permit provisions as well as travel services

Results

Airswift became the sole supplier supporting  contractors in Colombia and successfully on-boarded 10 contractors. As the chosen contractor support services company, Airswift manages the on-boarding process and provides expertise and resolution to employment law, taxation, visas, immigration and travel services. Airswift continues to maintain a relationship with our client and the program stakeholders.

"I really like how they don't operate like a 'body shop'. We have a very good alignment at a corporate level."
