Gorgon

Background

The Gorgon project is one of the world’s largest natural gas projects and the largest single resource development in Australia’s history.

Challenge

The project required mass staffing in a remote location in Australia, while maintaining a balance of Australian and overseas nationals. Additionally, a high demand for experienced LNG workers overtook the supply, and mobilisation would be required for international workers travelling to project sites in Australia, South Korea, and China.

Airswift Solution

Airswift delivered on-site support and contractor services to the project from the Preliminary Front End Engineering Design (Pre-FEED) to the operational phase, with services including:

• Mobilisation of personnel from multiple locations to project sites in Australia, South Korea, and China
• Supported visa, work permit, and immigration logistics
• On-boarding, training, and off-boarding of personnel
• Global employment and payroll services
• Continued support through the critical commissioning phase of the project in Ulsan

Results

• At peak, provided 135 contractors to the project across Australia, South Korea, and China
• Continued support provided through the final stages of construction, commissioning and operations
• Became the largest contingent labour supplier of key workers to the project
