Our client, a Fortune 500 leader in paper-based packaging, were starting up a new recycled paper machine at their Michigan Paper Mill. They needed to hire for both the new machine and their legacy machines all within a short timeline dictated by the machine start up.
Historically, our client had struggled to identify Paper Machine Shift Supervisors and E&I Supervisors who had the required qualifications. Candidates needed to have a minimum of five years supervisory experience within a union paper mill and hold a bachelor’s degree, or in the absence of a degree, 15- 20 years of union paper mill supervisory experience. The combination of the location, multiple requirements and the experience level of the candidate, meant that this was not a simple search and would require a large dedicated resource team to map out the market within the short timeline.
Airswift partnered with the client to provide talent acquisition services and dedicated resources to support a multi-hire campaign, including a project manager and recruitment team to ensure timely delivery of the campaign.
