Case Study
Our client is an international classification society and recognised advisor for the maritime industry. Recently, the company has been undergoing a cost optimisation project due to various macro-economic factors.
As a result of the cost optimisation project, 40 personnel of the current workforce, 90 per cent local personnel and 10 per cent expatriates, would be retrenched across our client’s Malaysian business.
Airswift provided a clear framework for a tailored and unique Outplacement Program for impacted personnel to manage any potential challenging and difficult periods of organisational change that could negatively impact employees and productivity.
Airswift’s Outplacement Program was implemented in three phases: Project Kick-off, Individual Consultations and Ongoing Recruitment Support.
Project Kick-off: Airswift provided all affected staff consistent messaging and a questionnaire to be filled in to help Airswift tailor the consultations according to the employees’ profiles.
Individual Consultations: Within seven days of receiving notice, Airswift coordinated time with each of the impacted personnel to discuss their employment history, including transferable skills into new industries and interview advice and guidance.
Ongoing Recruitment Support: Following the Individual Consultations, Airswift provided support over an eight-week period over email, phone or face-to-face. The delivery team provided impartial advice on job opportunities and pro-actively worked on identifying and securing future employment with prospective and existing Airswift clients.
The Airswift team continues to provide passive recruitment support for any impacted persons still seeking future employment.
