Shah Deniz

Background

Shah Deniz II is one of the largest gas developments in the world, located in the Caspian Sea just east of Azerbaijan.

Challenge

The project required workforce support, while maintaining local compliance with Azerbaijani legislation and managing difficulties surrounding in-country work permits.

Airswift Solution

Airswift changed its operating model and entity to Airswift-Aztechno to support Shah Deniz II, in order to provide the client with:

• Contract personnel to the fabrication, commissioning and operation of platforms, FPSOs, pipelines and onshore processing facilities
• Managed Service Provision to accommodate local hardships and challenges through in-country registration and local expertise

Results

• At peak, provided 750 personnel across seven countries, including Azerbaijan, Norway, France, Singapore, United Kingdom, Turkey, and Georgia
• Became the largest supplier of contract personnel
• Deployed around 600 contractors via a neutral supply chain with 100% compliance
• Provided extensive cost savings to the client
• Supported Shah Deniz Full Field Development (Shah Deniz I & Shah Deniz II) and the Sangachal Terminal expansion program
