Our Department: The Surface Engineering Technology team develops and leads end to end implementation of a portfolio of software technologies in the areas of Process Simulation, Modeling, Real Time Optimization and Discipline Engineering tools across all lines of business, including providing niche advanced technical support activities.

Your Role:

Main Responsibilities:
 
  • Ensuring consistency of procedures, best practices and equipment through consultation and interaction with field maintenance and operations organization.
  • Ensuring that effective long and short-term maintenance planning and scheduling takes place by actively participating in planning processes and budget development with the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Brief Job Overview

This position exists up to the completion of the development phase including Project close-out. The project management and central controls teams will be based in Paris and the package teams will primarily be based in engineering and site locations in Houston, Milan and Mozambique (Maputo & Afungi) during this phase. The budget perimeter controlled is 10 billion dollars Life Of Project Cost, around 2 billion per year.

The position activities will be performed in close collaboration and coordination with the Project Management. The job holder will play an essential role in ensuring the project budgets, schedule, and risk are well forecasted and managed and that the project team is kept fully aware of the state of project budgets, schedules, and risk.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and support negotiation of contract exhibits for cost, schedule, milestone payments, progress payments, earned value measurement, change orders, and unit rates.
  • Lead effort to determine schedule interfaces between multiple contractors and resolve schedule conflicts.
  • Plan activities of the Project Controls Team to create and implement the appropriate work processes, practices, and procedures.

  • Responsible for the project execution of the expansion project on scope assigned
  • Management of General Construction Contractors in preparing for and executing the Project construction activities.
  • Supervise and direct LEMS, RFI’s and other similar processes throughout construction to ensure project delivery is on time and within budget.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Project Team.
  • Maintain close communication with the Engineering Manager and Construction Manager.
  • Take a proactive approach to risk management to ensure project risks are identified, mitigated and managed.
  • Oversee the review and approval of GCC construction documents and execution plans, including obtaining acceptance from key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with other Project Managers as required to ensure coordination, consistency and compatibility through construction.
  • Coordinate with Operations for key construction activities such as tie-ins, work over top of the existing pipeline, and commissioning and startup.
  • Input to the selection of subcontractors and equipment vendors required to carry out construction execution.
  • Complete regular project reports and updates, including cost, schedule, progress and KPI’s.
  • Ensure that the Project Safety Plan and Environmental Protection Plan are implemented and complied with during construction.

Qualifications and Professional Experience:
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience working as a Professional Engineer or Technologist within the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Project Management experience leading major pipeline or facilities projects (Operator and/or EPC) is required
  • Experience working on projects with Federal regulators.
  • Experience leading and managing contractors (union and nonunion workforce) in a complex work environment is required
  • Degree in Engineering or an Engineering Technologist Diploma.
  • A proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong organizational skills, technical knowledge and people skills to interface with a diverse group of third-party contractors and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Teamwork, communication, people skills and achieving milestones are important to the success in this role.
 
Other Requirements and Information:
  • This role requires working a 6 and 1 shift schedule.
  • Potential of working a 5 and 2 shift schedule.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.

The Individual
You will be an experienced administrator or engineer, ideally with significant BAU and project experience in enterprise environments. Due to your experience, it is expected that you are able to communicate effectively and be able to juggle multiple requirements and respond to change quickly.

Certifications are preferred but not essential in any of the above tech stacks.

This role is Perth based and only Perth based candidates can be considered.

  • Supervise Company Railroad Operations on a daily basis.

Airswift is seeking for a Sr Designer (Electrical) to work in Qatar with a major Oil & Gas Company. 
Qualification
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline and certification in Computer Aided Drafting / Design using AutoCAD. Knowledge of ArcGIS, 3D Plant Models, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access.
Experience Required
  • At least ten (10) years relevant experience in preforming electrical engineering design services of which six (6) years shall be in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical Industry, including experience in FEED and EPIC Phases of Onshore and Offshore Projects.
  • Ability to carry out data mining to extract relevant geographic and engineering attribute information from multidisciplinary engineering drawings / documents.
Key Role Accountabilities
  • Ability to extract route of underground services in geographic coordinates from as-built engineering drawings.
  • Ability to carry out as-built site surveys independently without supervision to update as-built engineering layout drawings in geographic coordinate system.
  • Experience in the detailed design associated with oil and gas projects including, but not limited to, industrial, commercial, and residential infrastructure, hydrocarbon pipelines, highways & roads, potable water supply, fire water, and drainage projects.
  • Ability to produce in-house CAD design and drafting work without supervision.
  • Experience in the review, verification, and approval of engineering and detailed design drawings in compliance with the latest codes and industry standards.
  • Must have knowledge of Industry and International standards, relevant to his discipline, including Shell DEPS.
  • Working experience in multi-discipline with Engineering Design Consultancy Organizations in the Middle East.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in working in onshore and offshore oil and gas production facilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 
  • Familiarize with corporate archives and record systems and be able to retrieve drawings / documents.
  • Carry out data mining of project dossiers, multidisciplinary engineering drawings / documents, operation manuals, inspection reports, etc. to identify and extract geographic and engineering attribute data required to update Geographic Information System (GIS).
  • Carry out as-built site survey without supervision to identify, locate and gather data about underground and above ground services and equipment in oil and gas operating fields and petrochemical plants.
  • Plan and communicate survey requirements to surveyors.
  • Collaborate and engage with relevant stakeholders including Company/ Joint Venture personnel and contractors to understand location of underground and above ground services / facilities and give directions to surveyors to survey them.
  • Assist Senior GIS Engineers in developing and mapping utility networks in GIS.
  • Produce / prepare AutoCAD drawings using information extracted from engineering drawings, as-built site surveys, field survey data collected by surveyors in accordance with Company standards.
  • Populate attribute data gathered from engineering records and site surveys in MS Access database and MS Excel.
  • Link AutoCAD entities with records in MS Access Database and MS Excel using external database connectivity feature of AutoCAD.
  • Upload / populate data gathered from various sources in Corporate GIS.
  • Participates in the development of improvement objectives in the department concerned.
  • Frequent long working hours may be required, which include outdoor field work in onshore and offshore areas.
  • Exposure to multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment requiring special coordination skills.
  • Sound inter-personal relationships and effective communication within Company and Contractor Teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential deviations from the Company referential and report these to the Engineering Manager for final decision on whether to implement.
  • Ensure that instruments are standardized across company project, in line with site policies.
  • Ensure close coordination with other disciplines on all engineering, constructability, and operational matters.
  • Ensure that relevant feedback from previous similar projects is considered in the design performance.
  • Participate actively in technical decision making, in meetings with potential contractors and vendors.
  • Participate in the technical analysis of offers and assist in vendor selection.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly meetings with Contractors, and in specific ad hoc meetings as required by management.
  • Provide technical answers to technical queries and provide support in deviations requests related to instrumentation and ICSS issues.
  • Manage assistance from shareholder specialists (remote head office), when required.
  • Participate to HAZID/ HAZOP/ Project Technical reviews sessions with Company, Contractors, and vendors teams, and provide technical answers to the points raised.
  • Participate in equipment FAT, SAT and other inspections at site/vendor premises as required.
  • Contribute to the engineering and technical interfaces.
  • Ensure detailed progress reporting to project management.
  • Assist project management team to reply to various correspondence by providing technical support.
  • Carry out any other duty or task that may be assigned by hierarchical superiors in line with discipline expertise.
  • Treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality.


QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Qualification: bachelor’s degree or equivalent in instrumentation and control engineering,
  • Experience: minimum 15 years’ experience as engineer in instrumentation and control engineering field in Oil and Gas activities.
  • Strong engineering knowledge, package interfaces (control & safety), tie-ins methodology on existing operating ICSS.
  • Strong Experience in Functional safety engineering (SIF definition, SRS specification for safety requirements, SIL verification with third party).
  • Available for technical missions worldwide.
  • Familiar with Total General Specifications, Prodom, MOQ standards and relevant codes and standards.
  • Language: Fluent English.
  • Computer literate, especially in AVEVA instrumentation.
  • Strong leadership skills and good communication skills.
  • Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET trainings.

The role will be Perth based with Ad hoc site visits.
Typical tasks will be:
  • Cost Tasks
  • Loading projects in Ecosys
  • Baselining projects data for reporting
  • Updating progress and costs from schedule and Oracle
  • Issuing cost reports with analysis
  • Ensuring invoices are sent out correctly and on time
Planning tasks
  • Using a prescribed template placing the loaded Ecosys projects into the planning template
  • Updating progress from Ecosys into P6
  • Reviewing schedule with Leads for progress and dates

Candidate criteria:
